For 170 years, European archaeologists have found in Europe 4 beautiful cones made of gold, created in the same style and with beautiful decorations. They were made in the Bronze Age, but scientists cannot explain to this day what they are for. One of the cones was found in France, and the rest were found in Germany.
The first cone, found in 1835 in Germany, is called Schifferstadt's Golden Hat.
The second was found in France (1844), he was given the name "Avanton Vien", as he was found in Avanton.
The third was also found on German soil in Bavaria (1953) and named it "Etzelsdorf-Bach's Golden Hat".

When and where the fourth cone was found is unknown and it is called the "Berlin Gold Hat". It was bought for the museum at auction in 1996. Archaeologists have estimated their age: three to four thousand years.
Inside, the cones are empty, and three of them are pointed at the top. They are made of rather thin sheets of gold, their length lies in the range of 29-88 centimeters, weight 285-490 grams. They are all decorated with symmetrical and ordered patterns.
Images in the form of circles and wheels with spokes are found on the Etzelsdorff-Bach hat. The cone found in Berlin is believed to be decorated with patterns representing the astronomical calendar with solar and lunar days.
The patterns that adorn the cones bear a resemblance to the patterns on the "hard cape" dug in 1833 on Fairy Hill, which is also made of sheet gold.
It is about 3500 years old and contains a human skeleton. Apparently the cape and the cones were made during the little-known proto-Celtic culture.
Cones of magical beauty associated with Stonehenge
Artifacts of a similar style were found in Germany: eight bowls with patterns made of gold and many gold bracelets (for legs and hands).
These finds are called the Eberswald Treasure, which is of particular interest among the artifacts found from the Bronze Age.
The theory that the cones are ritual phalluses was rejected by scientists. There is such an explanation for their role. They have a connection with the facilities of Newgrange and Stonehenge.
