Residents of the small village of La Sierra in the suburbs of Puerto Nara, Colombia, were gripped by fear of the alleged Chupacabra when the dried remains of a strange animal were found near their homes.
After they saw the remains, several local residents immediately said that they had previously seen this strange animal alive and roaming the area.
It looks difficult to determine what kind of creature it is. It may also be a stray, bald dog, but its lower jaw seems to be much smaller than the upper one, so either it is a dog with a defect or another animal.
The back of the animal's body seems to be absent, and the skin of the front is partially covered with some kind of whitish hair, or maybe it is something like mold or mildew.
A few days before the unusual find, the owners of a nearby house heard unusual sounds in the bushes and the strong barking of neighboring dogs. It was also reported that an animal was dragging chickens and ducks from farms.
Rumors about the Chupacabra spread around the area.
After the discovery, the remains of the creature were taken to the veterinary clinic for verification. According to veterinarians, this creature may well even be a possum, but so far there have been no official statements about the identification of the creature.
