The lakes of Kazakhstan have always been famous for their picturesqueness. Among the steppes and mountains, there are salty and fresh reservoirs of various shapes, filled with the purest water. Each of them has its own history, as well as interesting features. The most anomalous and mystical lake in Kazakhstan is Kok-Kol, or Living Lake, as it is also called. It can be easily found in the Dzhambul region.

Anomalous phenomena of Kok-Kol lake

Local residents constantly note that this reservoir behaves very strangely. Various anomalies take place on its surface, as well as in its depths. Recently, ufologists and other researchers often come there in the hope of finding a solution to the mystery of Lake Kok-Kol.

Initially, it should be noted that Kok-Kol never dries up. Moreover, the level of its water practically does not decrease, which contradicts all laws, since the lake is not connected with any rivers or other bodies of water. Where does Kok-Kol get its water from? Some believe that this body of water is connected to an underground source. Kok-Kol water always remains cold, clean and transparent.

Researchers of the anomalous zones of the Earth are confident that Kok-Kol literally lives its own life. Sometimes the quiet surface of a given reservoir begins to "boil" for no reason. Suddenly, boiling eddies appear in various parts of the lake, dragging in everything that was on the surface of the lake. Most often, debris gets into them, which then does not return back to the surface, but disappears.

One gets the feeling that the lake cleans itself on its own. Locals think that Kok-Kol is looked after by a water spirit, which they call Idahare.

Shepherds often tell frightening stories about the lake, which supposedly devours birds, wild animals and livestock. Sometimes their Kok-Kolya can hear terrible sounds: hissing, squelching, snarling and so on. Some are sure that a huge fifteen-meter prehistoric snake lives in the waters of Kok-Kol, feeding on livestock and other animals that come to the lake to drink.

Monster Kok-Kolya

Ufologists, arriving at the reservoir with enviable regularity, said that sometimes something that looks more like an anaconda comes out of the water of this lake. The length of the monster snake is well over 10 meters. This creature makes loud characteristic sounds - hissing and growling. Other scientists are sure that no monster exists. In their opinion, the lake itself makes terrible sounds due to some processes taking place at the bottom.

A group of divers came close to solving the secret of Kok-Kol

Once a group of amateur divers from Irkutsk decided to sink to the bottom of the reservoir. Young people have repeatedly tried to find the bottom of Kok-Kol, but they failed to do so. It turned out that, in addition to everything else, this reservoir is also bottomless.

During the dive, a giant crow was formed in the lake, which one of the divers from the above group managed to get into. The comrades searched for him for a very long time, after which they came to their senses for at least a long time. The body of the drowned man was never found, after which they decided to stop the "expedition". Rescuers, who arrived at the scene and were looking for the drowned diver, advised his friends never to try to dive until the day of Kok-Kol, as this could offend the patron spirit of the reservoir, which is particularly vindictive. In addition, they immediately said that all searches would be unsuccessful. This is exactly what happened.

When the shocked divers were returning to their homelands, one of them was suddenly called by the same “drowned man” and said that he was actually alive. Later it turned out that he woke up a kilometer from the lake, in the middle of a huge valley near a small river that flows there. A living and completely unharmed diver told his friends an interesting story about what happened to him.

As it turned out, the lake really pulled the diver into a kind of underground cave, which reminded him of a water attraction. A rapid stream carried him through this cave, after which the diver was pushed upward. He felt some anomalous force, which, it turns out, saved him. Thus, it can be assumed that Kok-Kol may in fact be cross-cutting.

Nowadays, divers often dive into the waters of Kok-Kol. Fortunately, nothing of the kind happened to any of them. Despite this, the lake continues to attract the attention of tourists and researchers.
