In Zimbabwe, a 99-year-old woman was "resurrected" twice when they tried to bury her. Bulawayo 24 website reports.
An elderly resident of a village in the province of North Matabeleland was ill for a long time and suffered a stroke. “She died at about three on Saturday night,” says one of her relatives. - We began to prepare for the funeral, notified the head of the village about her death, the neighbors gathered and began to dig the grave. But when the burial began, we noticed movement under the shroud. " As it turned out, the "deceased" was breathing.
The funeral was immediately stopped, and the centenarian was taken home. The next day, she again stopped showing signs of life, and her body cooled down. When the funeral was resumed, the old woman stirred again. “Usually other elderly women state death, but after two mistakes, even we men came to the house to see for ourselves,” says a family member. “When she was pronounced dead, her body was completely cold, but then we felt that it became warmer. This indicated that she was alive. We were extremely puzzled."
The relatives decided to take the woman to the hospital. Meanwhile, the head of the village was working on other solutions to the problem. “We were even going to ask the sorcerers for advice,” he explains. "We reasoned that since she was a traditional religion, there might be some things that need to be done." While they were preparing, the old woman died again. This time, the villagers waited several hours, made sure that she was really dead, and only then buried her.
“She was probably unconscious and with a very weak heartbeat, so relatives and villagers considered her dead and began to bury her,” suggests the director of a local hospital. The relatives of the deceased believe that she was resurrected due to the intervention of ancestral spirits.
Last year, in the Indian state of Orissa, a man woke up during his own funeral. When the body was lowered into the grave, the "deceased" turned his head.
