Trinitramide is a chemical compound discovered by a group of scientists from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) in 2010. The trinitramide molecule is expressed by the formula N (NO2) 3. It is only the ninth compound of nitrogen and oxygen known to science.
Initial estimates suggest that trinitramide is a promising candidate for high performance rocket fuel. Research results show that trinitramide fuel can be 20-30% more efficient than previously known. However, at the moment it is not known whether the solid phase of the substance is stable.
