Rituals in shamanism occupy a special place, since it is on them that the main action is built. But, perhaps, the most interesting ritual in shamanism is the rite of initiation into shamans itself. Moreover, many peoples of Siberia have as many as nine such rituals, depending on the degree of mastery, the level of the shaman rises. Zaarin are such shamans who are considered the highest, since they have passed all nine rites of initiation. Today such shamans do not exist, the last mention of them dates back to the end of the nineteenth century. Zaarins were able to perform miracles and soar above the ground and high above the treetops.

The supreme shaman sets a date for the initiation of the beginner or disciple, before whom a purification ceremony is to be performed three to nine times. During the ceremony, nine young men - the "sons" of the acting shaman, bring water from three nearby springs. Instead of water, the spirits of the springs need to make a sacrifice, in the form of which a special vodka infused with milk is used. Also, assistants should bring several young birches to their settlement. The shaman boils and purifies water by adding caraway seeds, young juniper branches and tree bark to it.

After that, the assistants stab the goat and drop a few drops of its blood into the cauldron of water, the woman's meat is boiled. In the meantime, the shaman begins to guess on a sheep's blade, in the process of divination he calls out to the ancestors of the future shaman. A broom is made of young birches, which the shaman lowers into a cauldron of boiling water and touches the back of the initiate with it. This action is repeated nine times, at this time the shaman says commandments and parting words to the future shaman so that he does not take money from the poor and help everyone who needs it. Such rituals of purification are necessary for young shamans who are just entering this position, as well as for experienced practitioners. Practicing shamans perform purification rituals at least once a year or more so that they can continue their activities and remove the contamination from themselves by spirits and evil people.

After cleansing, rituals of initiation into shamans are held, which involve opening the gates to the world of spirits with the help of ritual birches, which are installed in the fire and go out into the opening of the tent. The shaman reads various spells and puts the future shaman into a trance. The latter takes his initiation in the world of spirits, and not in our world of people.
