A creature that will not give you rest. An evil spirit, whose presence is disturbing, hurts and in extreme cases can even kill! We are talking about a poltergeist - the so-called noisy ghost, the existence of which thousands of people testify.

But science rejects it. At least for now. Some time ago, a researcher compiled the findings of his research, which should be compelling evidence that we are not alone here …

There is a clatter on the steps, cabinet doors are knocking in the kitchen, banging on the table, and the light flickers frantically. The house is completely abandoned! What's happening? what's happening? Who is making this awful noise? There seems to be a so-called noisy spirit in the dwelling known as a poltergeist!

While other stalking phenomena (such as unexplained changes in temperature or odors) often fall under this designation, noise is one of the most common manifestations of Poltergeist. There are hundreds of testimonies of people who encounter unknown scary sounds in their homes.

According to statistics, most of them can be rationally explained, but a certain percentage is still shrouded in mystery. Is he really a poltergeist? The results of many years of research have recently been published, suggesting that such a conclusion is possible …

50 YEARS OF RECORDS

The problem of unexplained sounds associated with the activity of a poltergeist has long been solved by British researcher Dr. Barrie Colvin B. Sc., Ph. D. from the Society for Psychical Research.

He collects recordings from around the world believed to emanate from a noisy spirit, recordings made back in 1960. Colvin chooses comparison as his research method. He selects ten specific records and compares them to records that appear to be as similar as possible, but are the result of human activity.

The material under investigation also includes the famous case of a poltergeist rampage from the Anfield area of London that occurred in 1977-1978. At the time, the public was shocked by the events in the Hodgson family. They say that furniture and objects here float on their own, wildfires occur, and inexplicable sounds are heard from different corners of the house. This case becomes a mystery that remains unsolved. Will Colvin be able to decipher this someday?

Spirit leaves a different sound

In June 2010, Colvin reveals the results of his research to the world. They say that the sound emanating from the poltergeist is different from the sound pattern, different from the recordings of the same technogenic sounds! “While the two types of recordings sound the same, they are actually acoustically different, although this effect only appears when the listening recordings are analyzed in detail,” says Colvin. Did he manage to capture the rage of a real poltergeist? When scientists try to reproduce sound from the "spirit," they fail. The difference between such recordings supposedly lies in the details of their sound nature.

While, for example, the sound of a normal thump is the loudest onset (on the order of a few milliseconds), recordings of an alleged noisy spirit begin relatively quietly and then suddenly amplify. In addition, research results show that sound comes from the inside of an object, not from its surface!

“I wondered if the recorded knock would be different from the usual. It is now clear that everything is different! Says Colvin. Its results are extremely surprising and are the subject of further scientific research.

Will his findings and therefore the existence of the poltergeist be confirmed?
