In the county of Great Britain called Kent there is a small village of Pluckley. There are no special attractions there - just cozy courtyards, old houses and well-groomed green lawns. Nevertheless, the village of Plakley is famous throughout England for the fact that, according to legends, a decent number of ghosts live here - as many as 12.

In general, the British have a very special attitude to various spirits and ghosts - they not only are not afraid of them, but even respect and are proud of their otherworldly neighbors. The country even maintains a real and quite official register, where all more or less famous ghosts are regularly entered. And in the same way, perfumes are deleted from the register if no one has seen them for a long period of time. In this regard, the concept of "mystical tourism" appeared in England as a separate direction. And the most famous anomalous place among such is the village of Plakli. It has two other names: "Village of Twelve Ghosts" and "Ghost Sanctuary".

If you enter Plakley from the side of the neighboring village - Multman's Hill, then on the way you can see a carriage drawn by four ghostly horses. The carriage, unlike the horses, is quite real. But you shouldn't jump into it. According to local residents, in 2007, one of the tourists committed this rash act, since then no one has ever seen him.

There is a beautiful old bridge over the stream in the village. According to local legends, several centuries ago a gypsy woman accused of witchcraft was burned there at the stake. Many villagers say that they often see the ghost of a fortune teller with a pipe, which even invites them to predict fate by hand.

There used to be a dense forest around Plakly. Once a certain English colonel committed suicide in him - he hanged himself after he was accused of large waste of money. Now, instead of a forest, there is a pasture here, on which, according to legends, a man in uniform walks at night, a piece of rope dangles around his neck.

Another gallows can be seen in the dark right on a tree - on one of the village streets. This is the ghost of an unfortunate school teacher who could not survive unrequited love.

One of the most famous spirits of the village is the black miller. According to residents, he always appears only a few hours before a thunderstorm. There are at least two explanations for the fact that the ghost of the miller appears in black: either he burned out in a fire, or his blackness is the result of a sinful life and a rotten soul.

A large spreading oak grows in the old village park. In this place, you can see another anomalous event - chronomyrage. They say that a robber was executed here two centuries ago. But many see the execution process itself today.

There are also the ghosts of two sisters: one of them is in white clothes, the other in red. Women walk, as a rule, in different parts of the village. The "woman in red" is buried in the family crypt near the local church. Moreover, the relatives were so worried about the calming of her wandering soul that the woman was reburied in seven coffins at once, which were arranged like a nesting doll. But even this did not work - the woman continues to walk around the family crypt.

There is even a ghost of a dog in the village - the rabid animal was shot by the police. Locals believe that seeing this ghost is rare, but hearing it is much more real. They say that the howl coming from the nearest forest is the voice of that very dog, or rather, its spirit.

All these stories, of course, are not supported by any research. Many are sure that these are just inventions of local residents who, thanks to their legends and stories, lure tourists. But people continue to come here with the hope of seeing at least one of the ghostly inhabitants of Plakli village.
