The idea of moving in Time with the help of a technical device - the Time Machine, was first expressed in the science fiction novel of the same name by the English writer H. G. Wells.
Prior to this, travel to other eras (in literary works, of course) was carried out either through a long stay in a dream, or with the help of magic elixirs.
Both have always been presented as something completely fantastic and unsuitable for implementation in real conditions.
The Englishman, on the other hand, made the assumption in his novel that a journey into Time is quite realistic if one has the necessary technologies. From that time on, the invention of the Time Machine began to be treated not as a fairy tale, but as a distant, but quite real perspective. In addition, scientists have come to grips with the creation of the theoretical basis necessary to create an apparatus capable of moving through Time.
At the moment, science has proven that the possibility of travel in Time exists, although of course there is a "one-sided" option - you can only go to the future. Several methods of such action are described, and they all have a completely different theoretical basis. However, the practical implementation of the idea is still very far away. The fact is that for the implementation of a particular design of the Time Machine, technologies are needed that imply a completely different level of development than the one at which human civilization is now.
Skeptical individuals believe that today people have practically reached the ceiling of development to which they were doomed. Limited resources and the need to tackle the more pressing problems of overpopulation and lack of energy and food will prevent us from making further progress. Thus, skeptics argue that all the grandiose projects, the implementation of which was expected in the future, will remain only in dreams.
However, this is a fundamentally wrong point of view. For today we can say with all confidence that the Time Machine will be invented. Why? Yes, because today there is evidence of this. And the so-called forbidden archeology can provide this evidence. As is known, this branch of archaeological science deals with finds and artifacts that contradict the official point of view on human history.
In the arsenal of finds made by "forbidden archaeologists" there are artifacts from the very distant past, which have a number of distinctive features:

First, they are all made of completely earthy materials. Consequently, these artifacts could not have been brought to Earth by alien aliens.
Secondly, these artifacts are made using technology available to people of the era to which they belong.
Third, and this is the most important thing, at the time when these artifacts were produced, people did not yet have the theoretical knowledge to create such things.
The most striking examples of such artifacts are galvanic cells for generating electric current found in ancient Egyptian tombs, surgical instruments for performing complex operations, such as craniotomy (as well as traces of surgical intervention performed with these instruments preserved on human remains).
Also, less material, but quite specific things can be attributed to such artifacts - drawings of aircraft, mathematical tables, exact diagrams of the solar system, etc.
The existence of these artifacts can be explained by only one thing - the implementation of travels to the Past by our descendants. During such travels, situations could well arise when people from the Future were forced to share knowledge with their ancestors. Or they secretly received information (spied on, eavesdropped, etc.).
Be that as it may, the existence of artifacts with the features described above allows us to recognize the fact of the construction of the Time Machine and the travel in past epochs by people from the Future as a completely obvious phenomenon.
