According to the inventors of SFedU, the protective effect is achieved due to the application of copper nanoparticles to the material.

Scientists at the Southern Federal University have proposed their project to maintain human health in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Researchers presented their developments at the 15th investment session of the Rostov Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which took place online.

First of all, scientists from the Scientific Research Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry of the Southern Federal University proposed an innovative development, which implies the treatment of various tissues and materials with a special antiviral coating. The essence of the invention is that nanoparticles of metallic copper are applied or embedded on the surface. This is what makes it possible to more effectively fight coronavirus infection.

“We now have in the future several technologies for making such fabrics,” noted the scientist Anatoly Ponomarenko.

These tissues are essential to fight the virus, he said. The fact is that thanks to this technology, infections do not accumulate on the tissue, but kill it.

- The tissue will be sterile during the entire working time. A suit made from this fabric can be washed and reused. And it's easy to breathe in such suits, - said Anatoly Grigorievich.
