One of the cornerstones of the Russophobic hypothesis of the Normanists is the assertion that supposedly not only the Varangians, but also the term "rus" itself has a direct relation to the territory of present-day Sweden. At the same time, despite all the efforts of the falsifiers of our history, it was not possible to find any “Rus” not only in Sweden, but in the rest of Scandinavia. And this is further evidence of the nature of the so-called itself, clearly invented by Russophobes. "Norman theory", which turned out to be quite tenacious in our history textbooks.

Exactly the same opinion is held by the candidate of historical sciences Lidia Groth, who has lived in Sweden for a long time and is fluent in Swedish, and therefore, unlike our Normanists, she studied in the original not only the works of modern Swedish historians, but also historical manuscripts and sagas. And she confidently asserts that there is no people "Rus" or the territory from which the name of the country "Rus" could have appeared in Sweden and never has been.

Here is what she writes about this in her book, The Interrupted History of the Rus:

Indeed, long before the name Rus appeared, there was an ancient state of our ancestors called Ruskolan. This state is mentioned by the rich Old Russian oral epic, as well as the Velesov Book, the authenticity of which, despite the prolonged squeals and screams of Russophobes of all stripes, was confirmed by three volumes of scientific expertise carried out by a whole team of Russian scientists of various directions under the leadership of Professor A. Klesov. The study of the DNA genealogy of the Russian people also confirmed the fact that it has been living in Eastern Europe for a very long time and is its indigenous population. And this once again shows the correctness of L. Groth's conclusion that it is Eastern Europe that is the ancestral home of Russia and that no "civilizers" of the West have anything to do with its emergence.
