The Carpathian mountain system is located in the territories of modern Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Serbia and Romania. Before the invasion of the Roman legions, which took place in the one hundred and sixth year of our era, tribes lived here, by whose name, apparently, the Carpathians got their name. In addition, at different times this area was also called Sarmatian and Ugrian; regardless of the name, it has always been surrounded by an aura of mystery, legends and legends about the strange creatures living here. Vâlva or Vâlva is a character in Romanian legends, one of the most interesting figures in the folklore of the Carpathian peoples.

In Romania, Valvi are called spirits roaming the hills at night, usually appearing in the form of a young beautiful girl. Until the end, both the origin of the word and the genealogy of these characters themselves remain incomprehensible; one of the versions says that the souls of women who, for some reason, did not find rest in the afterlife, become vomits. However, this is probably the most universal explanation for the appearance of all kinds of ghosts and other otherworldly entities that can be found in the legends of almost any nation. It is also possible that the Valves have a purely natural origin, are a product of the environment in which they subsequently live.

Depending on the type of occupation, the Valvas are divided into several categories, among them there are both quite benevolent and hostile creatures towards people. No frankly vampiric or cannibal tendencies have been observed in the vilv; the main sphere of activity of most of them is the protection and protection of natural objects, buried treasures, the ruins of ancient fortresses, ore mines. There are also rabbis who are responsible for financial well-being, protecting people on each specific day of the week, helping to harvest and preserve crops and, as a result, controlling the weather. At the same time, which is natural, the most respected are the valvians who protect water sources; they are called Valva Apei and live near streams, rivers and lakes. Also, the keepers of treasures and treasures are honored; some legends say that you can communicate with them and, with due dexterity, persuade to show the place where wealth is hidden.

In addition to the above-mentioned, quite friendly characters, there are also Valves whose areas of interest include managing disease, hunger, and other disasters. Among them, the so-called Valva Ciumei stand out, sending one of the most terrible diseases in the history of mankind - the plague. It is difficult to say what dictated such actions on the part of the Valva and how they can be avoided; Perhaps the anger of these entities can cause a disrespectful attitude towards nature, of which they are a part, or a constant violation of some commandments common to all. It should be noted here that the number of evil ramparts is relatively small and, in general, these spirits are perceived as quite benevolent beings.

To all that has been said, we can add that the Valves have the ability to shape-shift and can take the form of a black cat, as well as an ethereal shadow. As a rule, Valves rarely show themselves to people and only go for walks after dark. Then you can guess about their presence by the bright lights wandering in the Carpathian hills, with which the Valves illuminate the path.
