The Samara region has its own Alps with huge boulders, a clearing of sorcerers and mysterious circles.

Near the village of Smolkino, in the Syzran region, there is a mysterious natural monument called "Racheyskiye Rocks", popularly called the "Recheyskie Alps". There are huge boulders here, which were formed as a result of the movement of a giant glacier many thousands of years ago. Many people associate this place with anomalous phenomena and sorcerers.

Travelers are attracted by several places in the Syzran region: huge stones in the mountains and the "Glade of sorcerers" closer to the village of Peredovaya. In addition, there are remains of adits, where sandstone was previously mined for the manufacture of sharpening stones. Near the Gremyachiy farm, opposite the pond, there is a Sand Cave. Two entrances to it are located in sinkholes.

Labyrinths of stones

The landscape of the Racheyskiye Rocks resembles the views of distant Karelia. There are smooth boulders, ten meters high. Holes can be found in some stones, like on the surface of the moon. And there are also mysterious labyrinths made of stones, similar to those found in Karelia and on the Solovetsky Islands. These objects date back to the II - I millennium BC. There is a legend among tourists that you need to walk in a spiral made of stones and make a wish, and then put a coin in the center.

Such labyrinths are also called * witch circles *

There is also a rumor that in Racheika they met a man in a red shirt with a jug of money in his hands.

The villagers prefer to bypass these places, they call them bewitched. But modern pagans gladly arrange temples here. Rumor has it that one temple belongs to the Satanists.

Local historian and symbologist Yevgeny Bazhanov said that the Racheyskie Alps are of great value from a historical point of view, and the toponyms are directly related to local legends.

Hand-made products and arches with pictograms have been preserved on the territory of the mountains. On the mound there are two rings of stones, a labyrinth, and a dolmen or an ancient observatory. The Magi were also attracted by the Red River, the waters of which turned red during the rains. Perhaps the peat iron comes out on the surface of the water in this way.
