On the management of man and the human race

Dystopia is a new genre in world literature. From my point of view, dystopias are rather plans, scenarios of the future, clothed in an artistic form. Plans and scenarios developed by the world elite and aimed at establishing a new world order, that is, the absolute, eternal power of this elite over the rest of humanity.

Even in ancient times there were kings, emperors, dictators who tried to become the rulers of the world. And every time their plans were thwarted. Alexander the Great conquered half of the world, was sure that he would conquer the other half, but died at the age of 32, and his empire fell apart like a house of cards in almost a year. Something similar happened to the Roman emperor Trajan, Charlemagne, Napoleon Bonaparte … Outstanding leaders died, and their vast domains fell into desolation and fell to pieces.

Since the 18th century, a number of secret societies have appeared in Europe (Masonic lodges of various denominations, Illuminati, Rosicrucians). They merge with moneybags (Rothschilds and other usurers, bankers, capitalists) in order to establish power over the world. Gradually comes the understanding that for the conquest of power and its preservation, one force is not enough. It is necessary to tackle the transformation of man as an object of power.

The world power of those who are usually called the world behind the scenes, a committee of three hundred, owners of money, world conspirators, is possible only if a new person is created. A huge amount of money is being thrown into this task, the media, politicians, scientists, doctors, heads of educational and cultural institutions are being bought. Most of the plans for reworking a person are classified "top secret". However, something is becoming known.

First, these are the revelations of "dissidents" who, for one reason or another, leave the "narrow circle". Something can be learned from people like former NSA officer Edward Snowden. All of these can be called unplanned information leaks.

Secondly, there are thick documents that few people read. They are not classified, they are in a prominent place, but many, looking for sensations, pass by. An example of such open sources is the reports of the Club of Rome.

Third, those same dystopian novels; Of course, not all, only a few, belonging to the pen of authors who had great intuition, keen observation, broad outlook, and sometimes had access to classified information or communicated with its carriers.

The novels We (1920) by Evgeny Zamyatin (he initiated this genre), Brave New World (1932) by the English writer Aldous Huxley and 1984 (1948) by the English writer George are considered classics of the dystopian genre. Orwell. In some ways, these books are similar to each other, complement each other, and in some ways they are very different. In fact, they set out three models of the future society. These models are not the fruit of the artist's free imagination, they reflect the plans of the world behind the scenes. Probably, the backstage is not homogeneous, and therefore there are different options for a "civilized" future. The situation in the world can change, and the world behind the scenes can also adjust their plans, moving from one model to another.

So, three options for remaking a person.

  • In the novel "We" by Zamyatin, there is a brain operation similar to a lobotomy.
  • In Huxley's Brave New World, there is artificial biological selection and drugs.
  • In the novel "1984" Orwell - the development of "correct" consciousness through fear and torture.

In all three novels, the methods of creating the "right person" are supplemented by means of brainwashing - at the stage of education and upbringing, then at the workplace and in general throughout life to the grave. For this, the media, cheap culture (pop culture), primitive entertainment are used. In the novel Brave New World, children develop a set of reflexes based on Pavlov's methods (the same ones that the academician applied to dogs) with the help of chocolates and electric shock. In the novel "1984" TV screens are an effective means of zombifying - flat monitors-TVs, hung everywhere and 24 hours a day hammering the brain with news and party propaganda.

None of the three models have the institution of marriage and family. In We, sexual relations between men and women are free, but regulated. The purpose of regulation is to prevent too long and stable relations between two people, this is dangerous, fraught with the creation of an "underground" family and unauthorized childbirth. In the novel Brave New World, there is complete freedom of love, but with the strictest prohibition on having a child in the womb. Only on the factory assembly line! In 1984, sexual relations between a man and a woman among party members are generally prohibited (there is no regulation for the proletarians). The Party and Big Brother believe that sexual relations is a waste of energy, which should be focused on solving the tasks set by the party. Love between a man and a woman is viewed with suspicion in the Ministry of Love, this is a sign of treason to the Big Brother. In the novel "1984" the party members are allowed (and even ordered) to love only Big Brother!

The birth of children is strictly regulated in terms of quantity and quality. By quantity, I mean the planned population figures ("scientific" Malthusianism). Quality is the definition of which children represent the first grade product, which are the second, and which are considered as an unacceptable marriage (and, accordingly, are liquidated). True, in the novel "We" all people are of the same sort, but in Brave New World there are five kinds (castes). In the novel "1984" there are three (top party officials, rank-and-file party members and proletarians). The government monitors the observance of the proportions between the number of people of different varieties. Zombie is also differentiated. In 1984, proletarians are allowed a lot, since they have completely degenerated, have lost the remnants of their intellect, their behavior is built on reflexes that are easily guessed:“What views the masses adhere to and what they do not adhere to is indifferent. They can be given intellectual freedom, because they have no intelligence."

In the novels "We" and "1984", power supplements the activity of creating the "right" person with the use of force. There is no complete guarantee that a person will be loyal to the authorities and meet the anthropological standards of the “new world”. In the novel "We", the Bureau of Guardians (police and special services) controls the behavior of people. In the novel "1984" - the Ministry of Love (also the police and special services).

As for O. Huxley's Brave New World, we do not see a repressive apparatus there. This is a society where power is based exclusively on soft power. Man is no longer born there in the womb. He is a product of factory, conveyor production. It is hatched in bottles where human embryos are placed. The embryos themselves are created by intrauterine fertilization of eggs taking into account genetics. Genetics in the Huxley World State is at the highest level. Firstly, it allows to divide humanity into different groups, taking into account the differences in the genetic code. Sorting of humanity takes place, higher and lower types are determined. Secondly, it allows you to create people who do not exist in nature. This is especially true of the higher types, they are prepared to be at the helm of power and to lead such a responsible matter as the production of a person. The highest type is called alpha.

The other four castes in Huxley's brave new world (beta, gamma, delta, epsilon) are called to serve alphas. Of course, even Huxley, where the conveyor production of people is based on the achievements of genetic engineering, has no full guarantee that a person will function flawlessly like a machine. Therefore, the drug soma was invented, which corrects human behavior. Most often, a person himself voluntarily resorts to adjustments. And with individual copies that do not want to fit into the standards of the "brave new world", the authorities act "humanely: they are sent to distant territories in exile. No torture, murder (like in 1984) or public executions (like in We).

However, in order to achieve such "harmonious" relations between the authorities and the people, as in the novel "Brave New World", these people had to be virtually destroyed. Behind the scenes of the novel (events take place in the 26th century), a terrible revolution remained, which destroyed the old man and replaced him with a humanoid creature. And in the novel "We" events take place 12 centuries after the writing of the novel, and we learn that the "civilized" society was preceded by a great two hundred years' war, which led to the destruction of most of the world's population and put an end to the "barbarism" that lasted until the twentieth century.

O. Huxley, apparently, was very positive about the social order that he portrayed in the novel. Some researchers of his work believe that for a writer who was a sincere opponent of totalitarianism, it was a utopia, not a dystopia. However, Aldous Huxley was still tormented by something. I suspect that he was tormented by the understatement: how did people end up in the "brave new world" of the 26th century?

They could find themselves in it only as a result of unlimited violence against the human race. First, the institution of marriage and family had to be destroyed. Secondly, it was necessary to abandon the usual procreation and switch to a factory-conveyor production of a person using the achievements of genetic engineering (in fact, eugenics). Thirdly, to make society a caste one, erasing naive ideas about "freedom, equality and brotherhood" that have been brought up since the time of the French bourgeois revolution. Fourthly, to impose complete identity within each caste. Fifth, it was necessary to offer people a "good deal": to give up their freedom in exchange for pleasure, bread and freedom to sin.

O. Huxley understood that such transformations could not be accomplished by a revolutionary swoop. The Englishman produced an unattainable utopia in its purest form. And you can get into this utopia only through cruel violence against a person, a bloody war or revolution. So O. Huxley decided that the drug revolution would be the shortest, bloodless way to the "brave new world". He devoted the second half of his life not only to the philosophical substantiation of the need for such a revolution, but also personally participated in its practical implementation. I mean his involvement in the CIA's MK-Ultra project to plant drugs among American youth.

In the 21st century, we see signs that the world behind the scenes has again recalled the model of the future, which was reflected in the novel "1984". This is a tough option based on brute force and fear. The first signs of the transition from the Huxley model to the Orwellian model appeared at the very beginning of the century. The events of September 11, 2001 were assessed by many experts as the beginning of America's policy of state terrorism. Under the banner of fighting the ephemeral groups of Bin Laden and other extremists created by the CIA, Washington launched a campaign of global terrorism. And this is the way to create an atmosphere of universal fear. In 2020, the same world behind the scenes decided to throw a new portion of fear into humanity called COVID-19. In fact, this is also a global terrorist operation. In George Orwell's novel, "the wrong" people were re-educated through torture at the Ministry of Love. And in 2020, the world behind the scenes managed to conclude under "house arrest" almost half of the world's population, while educating frightened and muzzled people, teaching them "correct" behavior. Quarantine is gradually being lifted, and the fruits of "education" and "training" will remain for a long time. Or forever? "Money owners" are preparing people for the coming "brave new world" …
