Abnormal places in America are quite common. But Death Valley is exactly the place that should be discussed separately. Sheer cliffs clamp it with a huge wall, and if you climb the mountain pass, you can see a lifeless desert, over which an eerie haze hovers. Here the air temperature reached +56 degrees Celsius, which is an absolute record. And here is that terrible place, which was called the Devil's Hole.
It's better not to go there
According to American journalist John Maglens, the Devil's Hole is the most terrible place on our planet. This publicist was engaged in the study of anomalous phenomena in Death Valley and looked into one rather strange place.
The researchers call the Devil's Hole an earthen hole, the depth of which is so great that it cannot be measured. It is believed that this is a gap formed by the displacement of tectonic plates. The devil's well measures 2x6 meters.
It's impossible to get there just like that. The mysterious place is surrounded by a high fence, entwined with barbed wire. Entrance is carried out in small groups with special passes. This place is considered extremely dangerous. An ancient Indian legend says that an evil spirit has settled here, which can kill anyone who dares to approach. In the dark, he leaves his shelter and examines the surroundings, whether there are any uninvited guests nearby. Local aborigines claim that those who fall asleep by the well will not be able to wake up. The evil spirit will get out of its hole and finish off the intruder. But if the spirit is not disturbed, it will not touch anyone.
Many of the visitors to the local attraction complained of feeling unwell, dizziness, bouts of nausea and a constant desire to sleep. Among them there were also those who lost consciousness and fell to the ground. People came to their senses already in the wagon of the guards, who, although with difficulty, still brought the unfortunate to life.
According to scientists, harmful gases are released here, which naturally affects the well-being of people in the most negative way.

Can't reach the bottom
In this eerie well, at a depth of about 100 meters, there is an unusual lake. Under the influence of the increased activity of the Moon, the water level in it changes all the time. All attempts to measure the depth of the reservoir ended in failure. Researchers lowered a load into the water on a metal cable, but for some reason it broke off every time. Then rumors spread that there was a creature living in the reservoir that was opposed to scientific experiment.
At the end of the last century, a universal television camera was lowered into this water in the light of powerful searchlights. At a depth of about 85 meters, the diameter of the well increased significantly, and when immersed in water to a depth of over 200 meters, the searchlights went out. All subsequent shooting was carried out in absolute darkness. With further immersion, the camera began to rotate. She was probably in a whirlpool. When lifting the camera, it was possible to fix a pale glow coming from somewhere below.
Lake guards
The water of the investigated lake has a temperature of about 32 degrees. This is an unusual water that can be called "heavy" or "dead". It contains oxygen and a hydrogen isotope - deuterium. An animal that has drunk such water will soon die. According to biologists, life in this environment is not possible. And yet, she is there! At least in the upper water layers.
The absolute record holder for survival in "dead" water is a small fish karpozubik. She also plays the role of a guard guarding the entrance to the unknown. The length of this unremarkable fish barely reaches 2 centimeters. But what a courageous character she has and what an incredible adaptability!
For tens of thousands of years, she withstood all natural disasters, and only a man could defeat her. Today it is the rarest fish in the world. And this is really so - the karpozubik family is represented by only fifty individuals. So say ichthyologists who examined the lake.
In the middle of the last century, due to the use of groundwater by local farmers, the water level in the underground lake dropped significantly. The habitat of the kartozubiks took a severe blow. They tried to place the fish in other places, but all attempts were fruitless. It is a pity, but in the future, the local water may become absolutely dead, and the lake will remain without its usual protection.
