Since the 18th century, burials of Old Believers who did not accept the church reform of Patriarch Nikon were held here. The Old Believers were considered unkind and unsociable people. They brought their ill fame with them to their resting place.
Suicides, sorcerers, actors, atheists were never buried on church grounds - they were all taken to Malokhtinskoye, located on the outskirts of the city.

In the 60s of the 20th century, a policeman stopped three guys who were running away from the cemetery in terror. The slightly drunk company could not calm down and explain what happened for a long time.
As a result, the young people told their story about how they decided to have a drink in the cemetery and received a fourth, deceased in the company.
The policeman, who did not really believe the story, nevertheless went to the territory of the cemetery, collected the remains of the failed feast.
