These incredible drawings are very popular thanks to the illustrations by Eric Von Denikin. There are also many historical films where the lines of different animals and the image of a person are actively shown.
Scientists divide these drawings into two main types. The first type includes zigzags, lines and geometric shapes. The second type includes figures of birds, trees, flowers and all kinds of animals.
The first figures were discovered by pilots during reconnaissance flights. Already in 1939, Paul Kosoka and Maria Reiche began to actively study the gigantic drawings, who devoted almost 40 years of their lives to the study.
It is generally accepted that these geoglyphs belong to the Indian culture of Nazca, which lived in this area from 3000 years to 2200 years ago.
But this statement is not entirely true. After all, such drawings were found in the Andes desert along the entire length of the Pacific coast. Then, in 1940, similar drawings were found in the floodplains of the rivers: Chilpon, Rimac, and already in 1970 the same drawings were found in the Peruvian province of Arequipa. These findings clearly indicate that the geoglyphs do not belong to the Indians.

According to scientists' calculations, the creation of such artifacts requires the participation of at least 100,000 people and they had to work 12 hours a day, which is unrealistic in principle.
Another very strange fact is that in the legends and stories of the Indians there is not even a hint of who and when created these drawings. The impression is that they have absolutely nothing to do with the creation of these gigantic fragments of the past.
Modern scientists still do not have a single theory that somehow explains the purpose of such drawings. Therefore, this riddle will excite the minds of many people for a long time.
