During the Vietnam War, American soldiers often saw a strange creature that they called the "Rock Ape". Basically it was described as a very large (human-sized) primate, covered with red hair.

These "rock monkeys" loved to roam at night in thickets and because of this they were often mistaken for enemy soldiers. And only after firing at those bushes and seeing a red hand or leg flashing in the thickets, the Americans understood that it was a "rock monkey."

Sometimes the bullets hit the target and these creatures were killed. However, nothing is known about what was done with their remains. Most likely, in a war, when none of the soldiers would have taken on an extra burden while walking through the jungle, the dead bodies of "monkeys" were simply left at the place of their death.

The locals called these creatures by different names: Nging-rong ("Forest People"), trampoline or ujit. According to their descriptions, they are not uncommon in the dense jungles of Vietnam, especially in the region where the borders of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos converge.

In 1974, sightings of this creature became especially frequent. Probably the war with bomb explosions and napalm greatly disturbed them even in the most secluded thickets. It got to the point that General Hoang Minh Thao, commander of the forces of North Vietnam, ordered a scientific study of this creature.

However, people did not manage to find it, the researchers only saw unusual traces and made plaster casts of them.

Judging by the similarities in the descriptions, the Vietnamese trampoline and the Cambodian Yeti Tek Tek are one and the same creature. And a few years ago, the Cambodian newspaper Phnom Penh Post published a story about a possible meeting with Tek Tek.

It was a loud evening in the jungle: crickets chirped, cicadas, frogs sang, and a group of tourists was preparing to spend the night in the parking lot to these sounds.

A few moments after the silence fell, Greg smelled a completely disgusting smell that quickly filled the entire camp. It smelled so disgusting that all the tourists climbed out of their tents and began to look for the source of this stench.

However, they did not find anything, and soon the smell disappeared by itself and a minute later the cicadas and frogs sang again.

Yeti-like creatures are found in almost every corner of the world, descriptions differ only in the height and color of the coat, and their habits are almost identical and very often such a feature of their as a terrible smell is mentioned.

The Cambodian Tek Tek, judging by his descriptions, is definitely not a monkey, he is bipedal and on average is about 5 feet (155 cm) tall. From head to toe, he is covered with reddish-reddish hair, and in his hands he often carries a weapon like a large knife. This, by the way, is one of the extremely rare descriptions of the Yeti with cold (and any other) weapons.

In the park mentioned above, unusual roaring sounds are often heard that cannot be identified. Locals say that it is the Tek Tecs who roar like that when they are hungry, and that if they starve for a long time, they can start gnawing at their own flesh.
