Columbia Falls, Montana resident Misty Allabaugh knows exactly what she saw on that October day in 1993. It was almost dusk when she and her parents walked home from the forest where they went hunting.
“Suddenly my mom gasped, and my dad said to her,“Look Mary, he's coming,”Misty says.
Her father worked in the forests all his life and, according to Misty, saw many things that could not even be explained in words. He said that if you leave "It" alone, then "It" will not touch you and will simply go away. So it happened this time, but now Misty saw "It" with her own eyes. She had never seen this creature before, but realized that it was Bigfoot.
- There was no doubt in my head, it was him. There was a small hill, and as he walked, we saw sunlight between his hands and how his hair was flapping in the wind. Then my mom turned to me and asked, "Did you also see the hairy man cross the road?"
Misty Allabo was 17 years old when she first saw the ape-like creature, and since then the desire to learn more about him has never left her. Now 24 years later, Misty can safely say that the constant search for Bigfoot has become her main profession.
On September 22-23, 2017, Hamilton will host a conference of researchers searching for Bigfoot (called Bigfoot in the United States) called Big Sky Bigfoot Conference and Misty Allabo will host it.

This conference, which will be held in Montana for the second year, attracts many researchers of Bigfoot and other Yeti. There, people can share their stories of meeting Bigfoot and whether they were lucky enough to find footprints or fur.
In January 2014, Misty Allabo was fortunate enough to discover huge footprints of an unidentified humanoid creature in Western Montana.
Her collection also contains samples of unusual hair, blood marks and even pieces of droppings, presumably left by Bigfoot. Each time, Misty carefully checks whether these samples could have been left by ordinary animals living in these places, such as bears, and leaves them in her collection only when no known animal approaches them.
Misty has traveled to places from New Mexico to the Yukon in 24 years in search of Bigfoot, but most of her unusual finds came from her home state, where she saw Bigfoot alive as a child. Allabo has also written two books about Bigfoot and admits that she is an avid hunter, but would like to take Bigfoot under special protection.
