July is the season for strange crop patterns around the world. In England, people have already begun to get used to the annual "messages" in the form of pictograms, but for Udmurtia they are still a rarity. Recently, a similar phenomenon was recorded near Izhevsk. We tried to figure out what was really there.
I was struck by the thunder
On a clear fine morning, taxi driver Andrey Kataev put the passengers in and drove them along the Shaberdinsky tract towards Luke. At the 10th kilometer, the road bends around the village of Stary Senteg, goes along a hillock, and the views below are amazing: a wide field spikes almost to the horizon.
- When I was traveling with passengers, it was about half past eight in the morning, the field was flat. But when I was driving back half an hour later, I already shuddered, - Andrei recalls excitedly.
In half an hour the rye field had changed beyond recognition - it was all covered with strange drawings.
- I was struck by thunder! - says Andrey. - Even from the hillock, I saw that the drawings were varied, but there was something in common in them. And I realized that this grass was crushed in even squares, and everything was so beautifully laid! I know there are grass winds, but they cannot lay the grass in such strict geometric shapes. He came closer, looked closely - and the grass was crumpled almost at an angle of 90 degrees! Well, can a person do that, moreover, in half an hour? No, this is not a man, here is something else …
On the same day, the journalist and photographer of our newspaper went to the place where the meadow paintings were formed.
- What UFO? Have we seen any UFOs? - the villagers were surprised when we arrived at Staryy Senteg and began to ask them about what had happened.

Nevertheless, our photographer went to the field to capture the resulting patterns. But after a few minutes he returned.
“The batteries are dead, and I just charged them yesterday,” he explained.
I took a new set and went off to shoot again. And again soon returned.
- This is definitely some kind of anomalous zone! The second set of batteries is discharging. But he still managed to make a few frames.
Versions: from round dances of hedgehogs to UFOs
In total, there are about 20 versions of the appearance of crop circles. Most popular: air whirlwinds, microtornadoes, weddings and round dances of hedgehogs, ghosts, UFO hovering. The latest version appeared about some force rays emitted by UFOs. The “lucky ones” who managed to be inside such a “ray” recall that at this time their body was squeezed by some unknown force. It is not excluded, say ufologists, that it is this unknown type of energy, pressing plants to the ground, and draws strange messages in the fields.

I saw this in the Samara region. There were the same bedsores, the grass was bent to one side. But there were clearly visible figures: circles, eights, and zigzags. It is somewhat similar to this case. I have three working versions. First: change in the level of underground rivers. It can change either in places where the earth's crust rises (then the river can change height and washes out voids), or in places where the earth's crust drops, then the underground river forms the so-called wells. In such places, eddies can form, which affect the surface of the earth. My second version: for various reasons, microvortices are formed on the surface of the earth, which we, humans, may not feel. Inside such vortices, pressure rises sharply, and this can also affect the grass. And finally, the latest version, the most "raw" - UFO. If this field was visited by aliens, then a trace must remain on the soil: both on the stalks of the grass and on the soil. Unfortunately, this is not visible in the photograph. We need to go to the place, and our group and I will definitely organize an expedition there in the coming days.

- It is very common that under a cumulonimbus cloud there are such “swirls” of the air flow, which create visible patterns, but, as a rule, they are not clear geometric shapes. Those. the boundaries of these drawings are visually blurred. It happens that a strong wind goes in a "clearing", but also not with clear boundaries, but it happens that it forms a funnel, but then the drawings would be in the form of a swirling spiral. Still similar patterns of grass on the field can be observed during rain with hail - the grass falls under the influence of the force of precipitation.

Many eyewitnesses describe unexplained phenomena at the place where meadow paintings were formed. Sometimes from within the "circles" mysterious sounds are heard: hum, buzzing, rattling, ultrasounds … Sometimes they can be recorded on a tape recorder, but there are often cases when the equipment in the "circles" flatly refuses to work.
More than 60 percent of people in "circles" have unpleasant sensations: headache, "energetic" tingling, nausea, disorientation … And this is not self-hypnosis: unmotivated fear, and sometimes vomiting, also occurs in "circles" in animals - dogs, cows.
