On March 16, 2018, many world media reported on a mysterious find that was discovered on the shores of Wolf Island in Georgia. The remains of a strange creature with a tail like a shark, but with a long neck and a small mouth, were washed ashore. In appearance, the creature resembled an ancient sea lizard, but was small in size. We also reported on this.

Since those days, the investigation into the case of the remains of this creature has not advanced a single step, it seems that these remains never fell into the hands of researchers. Cryptozoologists, however, immediately recalled earlier sightings in southern Georgia of a mystical sea creature called Altamaha-ha.

In appearance, this cryptid is very similar to the creature that washed ashore Wolf Island or Nessie from Loch Ness (Scotland).

The first known sighting of this creature was in 1830. We saw him in the Altamakha River (hence the nickname) near the city of Darien, which is only 6-8 miles from the place where strange remains were found in March 2018.

It is curious that the city of Darien was founded in 1735 by immigrants from Scotland, or rather from Inverness, which is located near the very Loch Ness, which again allows us to recall the famous Nessie. And the monster Altamaha-ha has been a kind of symbol / talisman of this city for many years.

So, the first documented sighting of the monster was in 1830, and in 1981, two strange humps were seen in the waters of the river, rapidly moving along the surface of the water. Locals describe the monster as a large creature, 30 feet (9 meters) long, with seal-like fins and a snake-like head on a fairly long neck.

Also in the 1970s, a local resident told how he saw a monster in the waters, at least 15-20 m long. In the same years, another local fisherman saw something large on the river that was moving under water and raising a large wave. This wave nearly overturned his boat.

The creature recently found on the shore is much smaller, barely more than a meter, but it could be a cub.

This area is perfect for even a large group of large creatures to hide here. There are many rivers, swampy rivers, swamps, numerous abandoned rice fields and canals from the 18th and 19th centuries.

8 years ago, in the state of Georgia, an unidentified creature was filmed in the waters of the Altamaha River near Fort King George. This river has access to the nearby ocean. Maybe there was a large fish or otter, or maybe something more mysterious.
