British and American scientists will travel to the Gulf of Mexico to try to find the remains of a meteorite that allegedly killed the dinosaurs, as well as other traces of the Mesozoic era.
The researchers intend to build a drilling platform in the bay with which they can learn more about the catastrophe that occurred when a meteorite fell on the Yucatan Peninsula 65 million years ago. Scientists believe that a giant asteroid that landed here left a huge crater with a radius of 180 kilometers and a depth of 20 kilometers. Part of this depression was subsequently filled with the ocean.

According to one version, it was the fall of this asteroid that led to the extinction of dinosaurs and other large animals of that period. A huge celestial body, hitting the ground, caused a powerful tsunami, which generated a dust cloud. This cloud closed the Earth from the Sun for several decades, which led to the mass death of living beings.

However, not all scientists agree with this version of the extinction of the dinosaurs. Some researchers hold the theory that giant reptiles became extinct from the increased volcanism on our planet. According to this version, volcanoes erupted for so long that their ash blocked our planet from the Sun. As a result, the climate became colder, and the dinosaurs just froze. However, opponents of this theory believe that during the long eruption, dinosaurs could adapt to the cold snap and survive.

Another version of the extinction of the dinosaurs is climate change. Presumably, during this period, continental drift occurred, which caused temperature drops and the death of large animals. This version is opposed by the fact that there were no serious climate changes 65-66 million years ago on Earth.
Another theory is that atmospheric change is to blame for the death of the dinosaurs. That is, the animals could not breathe and simply suffocated. However, a number of researchers believe that even if there was a change in the atmosphere, it was facilitated by the fall of an asteroid or active volcanism. In addition, researchers used rocks to study the composition of the air of the ancient atmosphere and came to the conclusion that it did not change much in the Cretaceous.

There is also a version that the extinction of ancient reptiles occurred when several factors coincided. However, all these theories suggest that dinosaurs became extinct long before the first man appeared on Earth. This version contradicts the find in Peru. Ancient stones with many drawings depicting dinosaurs were discovered in the country. Moreover, in many drawings, dinosaurs interact with humans.
The number and variety of images of extinct animals on stones is so huge that scientists could not even identify them all. On many stones there are pictures of man hunting for brachiosaurs, stegosaurs, tyrannosaurs. The most surprising, however, are the paintings depicting dinosaurs as pets.
In one of these drawings, a person is riding a Triceratops, and in the other, he flies on a pterodactyl. Of course, all these images contradict the modern theory of human evolution, so the official science immediately recognized the stones as fake. Scientists have suggested that the stones were painted by farmers to attract tourists.
However, some scholars have recognized the antiquity of the Ica stones. They noted that farmers were selling these stones for pennies, which did not cover the cost of making them. In addition, factories would be required to produce that many stones. Also, paleontologists have established that the stones have images of stegosaurs with triangular bone plates. Scientists established the existence of these reptiles only in the 1990s, and the stones were first discovered in 1961.

The earliest mention of stones dates back to the 16th century. The Indian chronicler Juan de Santa Cruz Pachacuti wrote in his chronicle that in the area of Chinchayunga (correlated with the modern province of Ica) many black stones with engraved drawings are found. Scientists cannot determine the real age of the stones due to the lack of organic matter on them, and the location of the cave where they were allegedly found is kept secret.
Dr. Javier Cabrera, who collected a collection of Ica stones, believes that before the global catastrophe there was not just an unknown highly developed civilization on Earth, but another humanity. Moreover, it might not even be the ancestor of modern people. Such assumptions force modern scientists to completely revise the theory of the origin of man and modern civilization.
