Chloe's Ghost at Myrtle Plantation
The Myrtle Plantation in San Francisco, Louisiana is said to be home to at least 12 ghosts! The most famous of these is a slave spirit named Chloe.
They say she was the mistress of the owner of the plantation - Clark Woodruff. Once she overheard his conversation and was caught doing this. As punishment, the owner cut off her ear and the girl wore a green turban to hide her ugliness.
Since then, Chloe has harbored a grudge. One day, when the owner was away, she made her way into the kitchen and put poison in a cake intended for his family. Woodruff's wife and two children have died of poisoning.
Chloe was hanged and her body was dumped in Mississippi. But the restless spirit of the girl still roams the old plantation.

Oak Grove Ghost, Kentucky
This place, also known as the Phantom Bridge, is shrouded in many legends. One of them concerns the ghost of a woman who wanders here at night. She is said to have been the wife of a soldier who killed her and threw her body down in the 1960s.

Face in the window
The mysterious face can be seen in the window of the courthouse in Carrollton. This is one of the most famous ghosts in Alabama.
The story goes that the face belongs to a former slave named Henry Wells, freed at the end of the Civil War.
The man was accused of setting fire to the courthouse. To avoid reprisals, Wells escaped from the angry crowd and hid in the attic of a building under construction. When he decided to look out the window, the incredible happened - lightning struck him, forever leaving the imprint of his face on the glass. They say that this ghostly face still watches those around him day and night from the attic.
Cemetery ghost
This photo was taken by a woman named Andrews while visiting her daughter's grave in Queensland, Australia.
Her daughter Joyce died at the age of seventeen. When Mrs. Andrews took pictures of her tombstone, she saw nothing strange. At home, she was shocked by the image of a little girl sitting on her daughter's grave. Mrs. Andrews believed that the child did not look like little Joyce and did not identify him in any way. On her next visit, she noticed that next to her daughter's grave, there were two graves of small children.
Apparently, the spirit knew about the presence of a woman, because it looks directly into the lens.

Visitors to the house talk about seeing a ghost of a woman in the garden. Some claim that the spirit of Thomas Wali is still haunting the living room. The ghost of Thomas’s granddaughter, Marion Reynolds, grabs the hands of visitors inspecting the house, and ghost children have been observed in the rooms more than once.
It is believed that the ghost in the photo is Thomas Wali himself, looking out the window.
Lone soldier
This old photograph was taken in the house during renovations. It is known that Confederate soldiers were housed in the basement of this building. The photo was taken during the American Civil War. It is believed that this is the ghost of a dead soldier ascending the stairs leading up from the basement.
Backseat passenger
In 1959, Mabel Chinnery went to the cemetery with her husband to visit her mother's grave. She took several photographs of the grave and then turned and took a picture of her husband in the passenger seat. When the photo was developed, the couple saw that someone with glasses was sitting in the back seat. Mrs. Chinnery stated that it was none other than her late mother, whose grave she visited that day!
