During archaeological excavations in Sudan on the banks of the Nile River, a mummy of a woman was found who died presumably in the seventh century AD. Egyptologists from the main historical and archaeological museum of Britain decided to enlighten this mummy in a tomograph. In the course of this, a tattoo was discovered on the inside of the woman's right thigh.

Scientists have unanimously identified the meaning of this tattoo as the monogram of the name "Michael". But this sign is not dedicated to a secret lover or husband, but to Archangel Michael, who appears in a number of biblical writings. "MIXAHA" - this is how the sign stands for from the ancient Greek language. This image is already familiar to historians. It is found in ornaments and paintings of ancient churches, as well as objects of Christian worship. However, in the form of a tattoo, the symbol was first encountered. And the curator of the museum said that this is generally the first evidence of the existence of a tattoo in these places and in this historical period.

In Christianity, Archangel Michael is the main one in the fight against banditry (the forces of Satan). Also, this is the one who fights for human souls, so that they do not fall into the power of the above. There is no doubt that the tattoo was made in order to protect its owner from the forces of darkness. However, the place for the tattoo, recall the inner side of the thigh, was chosen in a very unusual way. After all, a little bit more and the intimate zone begins, in connection with which the imagination can begin to draw very ambiguous pictures in no way combined with the Christian religion. Most likely, as it was before and very often happens now, the Christian symbol was applied in accordance with the ancient local pagan religion.
