The considered impossible space engine - the so-called EM Drive, which supposedly creates thrust without dropping mass, actually works

It's really obvious - incredible

All currently existing space engines create thrust, throwing something away - either the products of fuel combustion, or ions dispersed by an electromagnetic field. Only in novels and films, the action of which takes place in the distant future or today, but with the participation of aliens, ships and especially "flying saucers" are accelerated in some fantastic way, without erupting anything from themselves.

Pipe dreams? Yes. So at least it seemed until the British scientist Roger Scheuer created his own engine - EM Drive. Or "Scheuer's gravicapu", as we call it. The prototype appeared back in 2000. Since then, "sane scientists" have argued that this engine cannot create thrust, because its appearance would contradict Newton's laws. And to take on it is just a waste of time.

However, there were researchers who were not so skeptical. They still built working models of "gravity". And to their own, to put it mildly, surprise, they discovered that craving really appears from somewhere.

We tested our EM Drive engines in China, Great Britain, Germany. Since last year, the United States has come to grips with gravitationalists. Experts close to NASA - from the Eagleworks Laboratory (Johnson Space Center in Texas) - conducted several experiments. And now we are convinced: EM Drive is working. But how? Nobody can understand this yet. The Eagleworks report, for example, states that the device generates a force that "cannot be attributed to any known electromagnetic phenomenon."

And this jug will carry us to Alpha Centauri?

The basic structure of the "gravity" is simply amazing. A closed truncated cone is a kind of jug. Inside - a source of microwave radiation. It is created by a magnetron - about the same as the one that generates waves in a household microwave. And that's all. Turn on the "microwave" - a force arises that acts towards the bottom of a larger area. Scheuer himself believes that the effect arises due to the asymmetry of the cone and due to the fact that the microwaves "press" more strongly on the bottom of a larger area than on the opposite.

According to Paul Mach of the same Eagleworks Laboratory, recent studies carried out here have shown that the magnetic field patterns on the bottoms do differ. But how this is related to the thrust, which was obtained even in a vacuum, remains a mystery.

Experts do not recognize such a primitive explanation - about wave pressure. They sin either on a "virtual plasma toroid" that appears in the jug, then on "quantum oscillations of vacuum", then on "ether" from which the engine is repelled, then on particles that create thrust, "flying out of the fabric of space-time."

In the meantime, the results of experiments with only models are impressive. For example, the Chinese professor Yang Juan from the Northwestern Polytechnic University "gravicapa" created a thrust of almost 100 grams.

In the cinema, gravitationalists have long been moving fast pepelats from place to place.

If you believe the calculations, then a full-scale EM Drive, and even with superconducting magnets, will "pull" with a force of 3 tons for each kilowatt of supplied electrical energy. That is, it will even allow you to create flying cars - as in the film "The Fifth Element".

A spacecraft equipped with Scheuer's gravitons, taking into account acceleration and deceleration, will deliver to Mars in 70 days, to the Moon in 4 hours.

Enthusiasts are now arguing about the speeds to which EM Drive can be accelerated. Some say the limit is about 10 percent of the speed of light. This is 30 thousand kilometers per second - an unprecedented speed for today, a thousand times higher so far achieved by earthly spacecraft.

According to rumors, during the experiments at NASA, the researchers recorded the curvature of space around the "gravity". And allegedly in this curved space, the laser beams were accelerated. In other words, the so-called Warp effect appeared. For science fiction writers, it allows you to move faster than light. But even without curved space, EM Drive will make interstellar travel a reality. Let's say Alpha Centauri - the closest system to us - can be reached in less than 100 years.

If you fly only within the solar system, then you won't even have to take fuel on board a ship equipped with EM Drive. Microwave radiation can be generated using energy from solar panels. And for long-distance expeditions, of course, you need some powerful sources. For example, nuclear reactors. Or thermonuclear - someday they will be created.

A huge snail crawls across Pluto

Take a closer look: a dark object casting a shadow on a light surface really looks like a living creature. Specifically - on a slug. Or a snail. Even legs are visible behind, horns in front. You can also see the traces that the creature left. That is, it crawls. And therefore, alive.

NASA's New Horizons probe photographed the snail back on December 24, 2015 with a high-resolution camera that produced very clear images of a heart-shaped ice plateau called Sputnik Planum, after the first Soviet artificial satellite.

The photographs and computer simulations carried out by scientists led to the conclusion that the plateau is a deep reservoir filled with frozen nitrogen. The bottom of the reservoir heats up the heat of the bowels. As a result, bubbles appear, which, when solidified, rise to the surface. And they form cells ranging in size from 16 to 40 kilometers across. Their edges look like traces from local snails. The snails themselves must be several hundred meters long.

A distant slug - from Pluto - stopped at a crossroads.

“On Earth, volcanic lava behaves in a similar way,” explains William McKinnon, deputy director for geological and geophysical research of the New Horizons mission.

Total: the "snail" does not crawl anywhere - it just lies. And it is not a snail at all, but just a block of water ice covered with mud. Or a piece of rock pushed out by a nitrogen bubble. By the way, there are other dark objects on the plateau, which do not even remotely resemble any living creatures.
