The Russian Geographical Society (RGO) called the news about the discovery in Russia of a giant pyramid, which allegedly is a copy of the Egyptian pyramid of Cheops, as fake. The official commentary is published on the website of the society.

The specialists emphasized that the 774 meter high peak with coordinates 65.24.098 and 61.41.863 has been known for a long time and is plotted on all topographic maps. They also denied its man-made origin, since similar forms of relief are found in many mountain systems. The regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society plans an expedition to the Narodo-Ityinsky Ridge, but visiting and exploring this peak is not included in it, they added there.

“The publication is intended to stir up interest in a travel company organizing its commercial tours to the Subpolar Urals, and has nothing to do with research tasks,” the Russian Geographical Society concluded.

Earlier we reported that tourists from the expedition club in the Subpolar Urals found a giant pyramid. It is located on the territory of the Narodo-Ityinsky Ridge in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, its height reaches almost 800 meters, and the length of the faces located on the cardinal points is about a kilometer.

The Pyramid of Cheops was built over 4.5 thousand years ago and is the largest monument of its kind in the Ancient World. Until the XIV century AD, it remained the tallest structure in the world (about 147 meters). The pyramid is the only one of the seven wonders of the world that has survived to this day.
