Until recently, it was believed that the phenomenon of poltergeist only scares people and causes them material damage, but does not threaten human life and health: the evil spirits allegedly observe some kind of "safety technique" in relation to us. However, in recent years, experts have increasingly begun to pay attention to the fact that the behavior of invisibles has changed, and not for the better.
Pursuit of the Gile sisters
It must be said that in the total mass of poltergeist phenomena such "assaults" on a person do not constitute the majority. Tickling, pinching, punching with an invisible fist, carrying people from place to place, dousing with water - all this happens infrequently. Even less often, something invisible stabs the victim, bites it, electrocutes it, strangles it …
One of the first described cases of "cruel" poltergeist occurred in Bristol (England) in the years 1761-1762. Two sisters - Molly and Dobby Gile - became the object of attacks by "evil forces". In addition to parents and neighbors, the scientist-naturalist Henry Durbin was a witness to the outrage. His book "A Narrative of Extraordinary Events Becoming to the Children of Mr. Richard Jail", containing an account of what he saw, was published only 100 years later, in 1860.
It all started with strange scratches on the sisters' beds. Then knocks began to be heard, objects moved. They tried to catch the girls on mischief, but one day, in front of their father's eyes, the heavy lid of the chest suddenly opened by itself, from there Molly and Dobby's dresses flew out and scattered throughout the room.
And soon someone invisible began to pinch the sisters' legs.

Since then, the babies' troubles began to grow. Several times, in the presence of eyewitnesses, someone invisible bit and scratched the girls. “The children were lying on their backs with their hands on top of the blankets,” writes G. Durbin. - They could not bite themselves, because all this time we followed them relentlessly. Examining the bites, we found traces of 18 or 20 teeth on them. Saliva was smeared on the surface of the wounds, the outlines of which clearly indicated the touch of someone's mouth to the skin of the girls. The skin of the bite sites smelled disgusting. In general, the impression was created that the disgusting invisible man had nothing to do with muzzle children.
Two months later, poltergeist phenomena reached their peak: the malicious entity pushed the sisters, knocking them down. The girls' relatives tried to help them, but nothing worked. The defenders, including G. Durbin, were opposed by someone's invisible hands. All attempts to cope with the "raider" ended in failure: he attacked the defenders themselves.
Curiously, the poltergeist could speak. The priests summoned to fight him asked the invisible ones questions, but he responded only when asked in Latin or Greek. The villain spoke "with sounds scribbling the soul." His answers were monosyllabic, but "quite satisfactory." Circumstances did not allow G. Durbin to trace the entire history to the end, and we do not know how it ended. It is only known that the girls survived.
Afterlife revenge
An even more violent outbreak of otherworldly persecution occurred in March 1962 in the Davis family (Indiana, USA). The targets of the attacks were two adult women - a mother and a daughter. It all started on grandfather's birthday, about which they had not heard anything for 20 years. One evening, small things began to fly around the house, sounds were heard vaguely resembling laughter, and then something began to prick both women into their hands as if with pins. This went on for a whole week.
Further more. The hostesses were dropped to the floor and pressed against it with such force that it was impossible to lift them for some time. The poltergeist amused himself by breaking the nails on the feet and hands of his victims, ripping hair by hair from the hair, pulling out earrings from the lobes. Running away from home did not bring relief - invisibility followed the unfortunate.
The poltergeist ended as suddenly as it began. The credit for this was attributed to themselves by the Mormon shepherds, who for some time were near the women. As for the grandfather, he, as it turned out later, died literally on the eve of the events described.
In 1850, a merciless invisible man chose 12-year-old Harry Phelps, who lives in the American city of Stratford (Connecticut), for himself. Some kind of force constantly pulled the boy off the floor and beat his head against the ceiling and walls. In addition, the child was repeatedly thrown into a water tank, hung by clothes on tree branches, and thrust into a chimney. In the kitchen, pots of freshly cooked food were thrown over his head, burning. The reason for this persecution was never established.
And from the most recent cases, attention is drawn to themselves - vampire "poltergeists. Apparently, the vampire fashion that has spread in the world somehow influenced the entities of the other world. Both "vampire" incidents took place in the United States.
In 2006, a certain entity discovered a craving for human blood, and not any, but only for the blood of 14-year-old Jeanette Evans, a resident of Atlanta (Georgia). On the girl's neck - where, according to legend, vampires usually bite - bleeding marks from someone's fangs regularly appeared. This did not stop in the clinic where the teenager was placed. Here, Janet was constantly under video surveillance. But even modern technology failed to "calculate" the vampire. However, each time during the next bite, the devices showed a burst of electromagnetic radiation of unknown origin.
In 2009, in California, an invisible vampire bit the entire Hayu-Ort family, while he actually drank blood from them. In addition to vampire bites and the traditional polter-geist knocking and moving objects, the devilry in the Hayworth house was also accompanied by the appearance of old decayed coffin boards within a week. It soon became clear that the pieces of wood had come from a nearby cemetery by some unknown route. The earth on some of the graves was dug and the coffin boards were removed. Moreover, the dust itself remained in the graves - he was not interested in invisibility. What was to be done? Of course, tracking devices were installed in the house and in the cemetery. Moreover, at the churchyard, they constantly went out of order and did not record anything, except for a sudden, very short incomprehensible noise. Surveillance in the Hayworth house was not much different. It seemed likethat old coffins materialized out of thin air!
17-year-old Luis was especially hard hit by a violent poltergeist in 2008 in the suburbs of São Paulo, Brazil. The invisible man threw all sorts of things at the kid, including chairs, knocking him down. But the main trouble is that some things ended up in the young man's stomach! The victim turned to doctors only when a mobile phone rang in his stomach. X-rays showed that there were at least a dozen different objects inside Luish. He was taken to the hospital, but the operation to cleanse the stomach had to be postponed because the poltergeist, albeit on a smaller scale, was "playing pranks" here too. He finally curtailed his activities only after two weeks.
