The catastrophe that changed Khakassia erased all evidence of a person's life over seventeen thousand years old. The flood is comparable in scale to the breakthrough of the largest dam, only fifty times more powerful. Such an event with the super prefix was proved by the expedition of the Khakass local history museum. We talked with archaeologists and tell you how a huge dam could appear in the mountains in ancient times.

It is very easy to imagine how some shepherd dozed off on this hillock 17 thousand years ago, and when he woke up, there was the sea around. Dozens of kilometers of water, for understanding, is from Sayanogorsk to Abakan, a huge sea. How did this shepherd feel then? It's hard to even imagine.

The Superflood theory appeared five years ago. Then a group of geologists cautiously spoke about the fact that a large stream of water pushed the sand to the high bank of the Yenisei, and also flooded the lowland in the Sorokaozerka area. The article was published in a scientific journal, but did not receive wide publicity. Everything changed this summer.

A month ago, the local history museum sent a large scientific expedition to explore the area next to the mines. The Beysky coal cluster is the battle for the rich. But before digging up the fuel, scientists must fix the monuments.

The local history museum sent a solid expedition: in addition to archaeologists, geologists and soil scientists were involved. The territory is large, there is a lot of work. For example, one of the burial complexes, chaatas, stands by the coal miners' road - there is an uninterrupted history for 2 thousand years.

While archaeologists were rewriting the monuments, geologists caught hold of pebbles and large shabby boulders. They could only get here with big water. However, there has never been a river here, otherwise the water would have washed up high rocks, like on the banks of the Yenisei. And then archaeologists remembered the concept of a large dammed lake. It was developed by the Novosibirsk scientist Zolnikov.

To prove the superflood hypothesis, the expedition dug a series of pits - these are pits two fifty million years deep. Geologists consider not meters, but layers of eras. Scientists found bursts of sand, as if something had pushed it out. Geologists clearly date the layer - 17 thousand years ago.

Everything above the Super Flood layer, soil scientists will investigate and be able to tell what was growing at that time. Perhaps they will attack the trail of cereals and then you can build a picture of the life of an ancient person.

Next year, the expedition will return to the Kaibal steppe and continue to work, in terms of scale, there has been nothing of the kind in Russia for the last 20 years.
