Only in the last ten years in Adygea eight times people have become eyewitnesses to the appearance of Bigfoot. And recently, a local resident even managed to make plaster casts of huge footprints left by a mysterious creature.

RG journalists decided to follow in his footsteps. Moreover, the coming year according to the Chinese horoscope will be held under the sign of the Fire Monkey. By the way, in the legends of the Circassians there is a character named Mezil, that is, a goblin. He is often depicted as a one-eyed, ape-like creature with a sharp, wedge-shaped bone on his chest. According to legend, it is with this object that he attacks intruders.

Riddles of Belovodye

Northern outskirts of the foothill village of Kamennomostsky, Maikop district. We can easily find the ethnographic complex "Belovodye", which was built by the dentist Vladimir Melikov, with a park of exotic plants near the spring, a swan pond, a restaurant and a hotel. And the exhibition of unusual finds has long been nicknamed the "Museum of Bigfoot". Entrance - for donations (as much as anyone can).

Striped raccoons live in cages among the stones, and black decorative boars roam around the original wooden sculptures. What is not in the collection!

- Like Tsar Koschey, I wither over my treasures, - the owner jokes. - Once on the shore I found strange artifacts: experts say that this is an egg and an embryo of a dinosaur. It happens that people themselves bring old things. For example, an ax from the times of Ivan the Terrible, an ancient sword, an iron … And recently I got a huge stone worm and a giant ammonite (a fossil mollusk, whose age is more than 300 million years). Even UNESCO is interested in such treasures.

There are ancient stone millstones, a bear's skull, a bison's head, fragments of a dolmen everywhere. And in a gloomy basement, Melikov reproduced the cave dwelling of the Bigfoot, carved according to the descriptions of eyewitnesses.

Wool as material evidence

The most famous exhibit is plaster casts of footprints of an unknown creature. It was for the sake of this find that even the famous traveler Nikolai Drozdov came to "Belovodye". And then he admitted that he had no doubts: it was in Adygea that Bigfoot lived.

These tracks on the slopes of the nearby Meshoko ridge were discovered by boys in 1998. At first Melikov did not believe it, and when he saw them in the snow, even goosebumps ran down his spine. Huge footprints in a chain stretched for one and a half kilometers and led to the stream. Here our hero found a clump of wool and passed it for analysis, which he later regretted. The "clue", alas, was lost. After that incident, he was even summoned to the police and demanded to hand over plaster prints. But they just survived and are still waiting for their researchers.

- It is simply impossible to imitate the footprints of the Bigfoot, having prepared the shape of the trail in advance, and "stamp" them on the shallow snow seized by the frost for several kilometers is simply impossible, - Melikov is sure. “Besides, there were no other tracks on either the right or left. The footprints are odd, with five toes, but the foot is not concave like humans, but curved. As if they have some kind of "fat pad".

Twice more cases were recorded of the meeting of mysterious traces in the mountains of the Western Caucasus by tourists from the capital of the Republic of Armenia - in the area of Mount Alous and the canyon of the Tsice River.

A specially equipped expedition to find the Bigfoot under the leadership of the Argo youth tourist center set out on the Alous pass. So far, no one has ventured to the Tsice River canyon with such a mission: the area is wild, untouched, with many caves and waterfalls.

And this year Bigfoot has become active again: this time in the vicinity of the Vodopadny shelter. His tracks were reported to the Ministry of Emergency Situations by tourists. Melikov again took casts, and on the bushes he found a clump of grayish-brown wool, which he placed in the museum for now.

Meeting with the unknown

In the summer, scientists and television men from Japan came to Belovodye. We lived in a hotel and scoured the foothills. They confessed that they found strange "burrows" and branches connected in a special way. It is assumed that this is how the Yeti mark the territory (a kind of "memory knots").

Local residents, who had a chance to encounter Bigfoot, literally admit in chorus that at the same time a person is seized with panic and numbness, as if under hypnosis. Fear is transmitted to animals - dogs suddenly start barking, and a herd of horses can suddenly jump off the spot and rush right through. And the local stove-maker, after meeting with the yeti, completely lost his mind.

Bigfoot can transmit his thoughts over a distance: a person feels his gaze from several tens of meters

- Who knows, does Bigfoot really exist? - muses the interlocutor when we went to warm up in a cafe by the fireplace. - I suppose if such famous people as Drozdov, Professor Porshnev believe, then there is something in this. Isn't it just that scientists from Japan and other countries come to us and study the finds?

Local residents who saw the Bigfoot say that he is two meters tall, all covered with thick black or red wool. He has a squat torso and muscular arms that hang down to his knees. Moves on two legs dexterously and quickly, makes sounds in the form of a whistle, turning into a growl. The head is rounded, massive, tapering upward, set on a powerful torso without a neck. The facial features are quite human, the eyebrows are very thick. He does not know how to use fire, although he is not afraid of him and boldly approaches the fire.

Another feature of Bigfoot was recorded by researchers - it is the transmission of their thoughts and commands over a distance. An ordinary person feels his gaze, being a few tens of meters away from him.

How about the neighbors

One of the first reports about the capture of the Bigfoot in the domestic press appeared in the 60s in the publication "Information Materials of the Commission for the Study of Bigfoot" edited by Professor Boris Porshnev. It tells the story of the colonel of the medical service Vazgen Karapetyan, who claimed that in 1941 a strange humanoid creature was taken prisoner in the mountains of Dagestan. Times were hard and, according to the source, the Yeti was mistaken for a saboteur or a feral deserter and, most likely, shot.

In 2008, the press of Kabardino-Balkaria reported about the sensation. In the Chegem Gorge in the North Caucasus, a female yeti not only went out to people, but also tried to molest men. In the vicinity of the village of Elbrus, according to local residents, everyone has seen a Yeti at least once.

And in 2011, the then Minister of Labor and Social Development of the republic Bagauddin Marshani told reporters that in the Dzheyrakh region of Ingushetia local border guards were trying to catch a strange two-meter-high creature that looked like a gorilla.

Opinion

Ivan Bormotov, Associate Professor of the Maikop State Technological University, Honored Traveler of Russia:

- For the first time as a real biological species, Bigfoot was recognized in 1735 by the Swedish naturalist Karl Linnaeus - he gave him the name Homo troglodytes - "caveman". The term "Bigfoot" has been used since 1921, when an expedition led by Charles Howard-Bury discovered on Everest a chain of footprints in the snow from large, barefooted human feet of enormous size.

In 1958, a commission of the USSR Academy of Sciences was created to study the question of Bigfoot. Its most active member was Professor Boris Porshnev. The working hypothesis, which guided the commission, was that Bigfoot is a primate from a degraded branch of Neanderthals that has survived to this day. The work of the commission was soon curtailed, but its results were not canceled by subsequent studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences and RAS.

Even with such extensive information, we do not find an answer to the question: who is he, Bigfoot? A primitive form of man, miraculously preserved to this day, a relict hominoid, a blind branch of the evolution of the human race, a living Neanderthal?
