This happened a week ago in the village of Gorki. Returning home after a night shift, Sergei GALKIN found the corpse of his puppy near the house.
“He had a bite on his neck, like a small incision,” he recalls. - And a day later, in the evening, I heard the barking of dogs, screeching … Some strange sound, wheezing, reminiscent of the roar of a leopard. I opened the door and a chill ran down my spine. I've never seen such a creature before. It was a chupacabra!
Having talked with an eyewitness of the incident on the phone, together with the researcher of anomalous phenomena Andrey PEREPELITSYN we went in search of the mysterious beast. The village of Gorki in the Przemysl region is surrounded by fields, a river and lakes. There is incredible silence here, unnoticed and a fly will not fly by. And never animals or birds attacked local cattle. Sergei Galkin's house is located in the middle of the village and is no different from the others: a fence, window frames and dogs running around in the yard.
- The beast could have been attracted by domestic animals, - suggests Andrey Perepelitsyn. - Do you have chickens or rabbits?
“I keep chickens, but I don’t let them out in winter,” Sergei replies.
At the same time, several neighbors keep the bird and rabbits, but the animal did not even try to penetrate them.
- When I was at work, my wife heard barking, some kind of fuss, but did not dare to leave the house at night. And in the morning we found our dog dead.
A day later, history could repeat itself - the chupacabra returned for the second puppy. But the owner was at home! Hearing strange sounds, he immediately ran out into the yard.

- And then I saw her. It is 20-30 cm high, it seemed to me that it was humpbacked, the ears are upright - a triangle, like a cat's, there are no tassels at the ends. The tail is striped, the muzzle is like a rat, and the teeth grow inward - thin as an awl. Its coat is fluffy, gray-brown in color, and its hind legs are like that of a hare.
At the sight of a man, the creature, as if nothing had happened, continued to drag the dog.
- I only had time to kick her. She first darted towards the puppy, and then darted into the barn. - With these words, Sergey brings us to the scene. - Covering the hole with a piece of iron, I went to untie the big dog. I come back - the iron is lying around, and she jumps over the fence. Yes, so high! Only traces remained.
Arriving home, Sergei felt pain in his leg - it turned out that the chupacabra had managed to scratch him.
- Or maybe it was a raccoon dog or a marten? - asks Andrey Perepelitsyn.
- No, - Sergey answers confidently. “I know what these animals look like. It was a different creature. At work they said that a few years ago, the Chupacabra killed rabbits and chickens in the village of Rychenki.
It is located nearby, we decided to go there too. The village turned out to be practically uninhabited. Some houses have “pood” locks, others are surrounded by high fences. Having wandered for 15 minutes, they still found a local resident.
“A year ago, several local rabbits and chickens began to die,” he said. - The hunter caught the animal and even sewed a hat for himself.
- And who turned out to be a predator?
- They say marten.
The man told us where to find the hunter.
- No, I didn't catch anyone, - the hunter Mikhail rapped out (it was obvious that he did not want to communicate with us). - Chickens disappeared here, like a marten was caught.
- Have you seen her, is it really a marten? - we asked.
- I saw, but I'm not sure. Like a marten. I don't know anything!
Realizing that we could not get more from him, we said goodbye.

- This year I have been collecting stories about Chupacabra in Ukraine. All people, in principle, tell the same story as a resident of the village of Gorki. Only Ukrainian will be higher than ours. According to the description, it resembles a raccoon dog, in the footsteps - a marten. I tend to think it's a wolverine.
