The Pyramid of Cheops is the most famous pyramid in Egypt. Moreover, in the Egyptian papyri, its construction is not mentioned at all. The first information about the pyramid of Cheops appears in the works of the Greek historian Herodotus. He lived 2,000 years after the creation of the pyramid, but despite this, it is his "History" that is considered the most reliable source of information about the pyramid of Cheops. Egyptologists do not doubt this information, but there is one significant error in this great work.

How many years was the pyramid built?

Herodotus claimed that the pyramid was built in 20 years. In 1977, Japanese scientists decided to try to repeat this grandiose construction. They decided to build a pyramid, which is 7 times lower, and its base is 49 times smaller than that of the Cheops pyramid; only those tools were used that, according to the Egyptologists, were used by the ancient Egyptians. Initially, everything went as intended.

But it soon became clear that the work was going on longer than planned. In other words, they could not complete at least half of the construction in a month. Then the Japanese attracted modern technology and coped with the work in just a year. Moreover, the volume of the pyramid was 343 times less than that of the Cheops pyramid. It follows from this that, using "their" means, they will definitely not cope in 20 years. As it turned out, the mystery of the building and the absence of mentions in the Egyptian papyri are not the only secrets of the Great Pyramid.

No hieroglyphs

Every fan of Ancient Egypt knows that all ancient structures are covered with hieroglyphs. But they are not in the Cheops pyramid. Not in the lower chambers, not in the tombs. Only in the upper discharge chambers are there inscriptions discovered by Howard Weiss. But they are written in cursive, and the Egyptians did not write that way at the time of Cheops. In addition, titles are attributed to the Pharaoh that he never had. At the time of Howard Weiss, all these titles were attributed to Cheops, in a later period it became clear to whom they really belonged. It all comes down to the fact that the inscriptions were made by Weiss himself.

The superintendent's diaries

In 2013, a papyrus was found, written on behalf of the man who directed the construction of the Great Pyramids. He wrote about the life of the builders, about how the pyramids were built. Egyptologists triumphed: this is irrefutable proof that the pyramid of Cheops was built by the Egyptians. But they forget that next to the three large pyramids are much more modest in size. The quality of construction is consistent with the technological level of Ancient Egypt. It is not known exactly whether an unknown foreman wrote about them, or he described another construction site. However, most likely, this opus has nothing to do with the pyramid of Cheops.

Dating issues

The age of the Cheops pyramid is also in doubt. Egyptologists believe that it was built in 2600 BC. A boat was found near the pyramid. It is believed that Cheops was buried in it. Only in the dating results do they differ. With the help of radiocarbon analysis, it was found that the boat was made in 3500 BC, that is, it is 1000 years older than the pyramid. It should be noted that the radiocarbon analysis is not absolutely accurate, it is believed that its error is 10-15%. But in fact, it is ten times higher - 100-150%. That is, the usual inaccuracy of the analysis may appear here.

Such errors can be found not only in the Cheops pyramid. It is known that the Medum pyramid has cedar logs inserted to strengthen the structure. It can be seen that holes were cut out under the logs in the blocks, which were then sealed with mortar. They were harvested around the 3rd millennium BC. The pyramid dates back to the same date as the logs, although in appearance it is older than them. But Egyptologists unanimously insist that the pyramid was built in the III millennium BC. This certainly does not apply to the Cheops pyramid, but it perfectly shows that inaccuracies in the dating of the boat and the Great Pyramid are not the only ones of their kind.

Of course, all these mysteries are not recognized by science. Egyptologists still adhere to the version that about 4,500 years ago, the main of the Great Pyramids was built by Pharaoh Cheops in 20 years. Then the Egyptians did not yet have a tradition to paint tombs, and there are no familiar hieroglyphs on the walls of the pyramid. The superintendent's papyrus talks about the Great Pyramids, and not about any others. There is no official version of the boat yet.
