Ancient traditions and legends tell little about how three large pyramids once grew in the sands of Egypt, on the outskirts of Cairo. They say that they were erected at the behest of the Egyptian pharaohs, Cheops, Khafren, and Mikerenus. Among the monuments there is an equally impressive pyramid of Djoser, whose architect was an amazing man Imhotep.

A haughty observer of what is happening near the pyramid of Cheops is a mysterious creature - the Sphinx. The statue of a lion, with a human head, calmly looks from the pedestal at the passing moments of eras.

Among the more than 80 pyramids that have survived to our time, there is the Djoser pyramid, erected in the XXVII century BC. Of course, the pyramid of Cheops, built in the XXVI century BC, is considered to be more ancient.

The texts of ancient papyri have preserved the name of the architect of the step pyramid Djoser to our times, who was the high priest of Egypt Imhotep.

Legends say that Pharaoh Djoser was looking for a specialist for a long time who could build a pyramid for him. And at the end of a long search, he found it. The high priest Imhotep was mysteriously different from his compatriots of that time. As time has shown, he was a talented architect, mathematician, and, of course, a skilled construction manager.

Unfortunately, history does not tell us where Imhotep studied science. We can only safely say that he was a highly educated person, and not only for his time. Some Egyptologists believe that Imhotep came from other lands. But where he came to the lands of Kemet (as the local inhabitants called Egypt in ancient times) remains unknown.

Imhotep's talent in science was very high. After all, on top of that, the priest was also a healer, having received the glory of a healer during his lifetime. And later he was completely revered as the god of healing. Can you imagine the degree of Imhotep's versatile knowledge of the sciences? Historians often point to Imhotep as the first scientist and architect who laid the foundation for Egyptian architecture.

This is how the Canadian physician William Osler put it in the 19th century about the healing abilities of Imhotep; "This is the first physician whose personality emerges from the fog of antiquity." Indeed, Imhotep's knowledge was very extensive. He knew architecture, and his medical knowledge went into the work known as the Edwin Smith Papyrus, a massive study in medicine.

Legends tell of Imhotep as a great sage and a great healer with magical or divine powers. Already centuries later, historians have come across references to Imhotep as a demigod.

Finally, in the Greco-Roman period, the high priest is worshiped as a deity. Many suffering and crippled people rush to his temples in Memphis and Philae on the Nile in search of a cure, often settling in halls for the night.

Where did Imhotep come to the lands of Egypt?

A lot is known about the life of Imhotep, an architect, healer, scientist, high priest under the ruler Djoser. However, in history there is absolutely no mention of where Imhotep himself came from, and where he acquired the greatest knowledge in many areas of teachings.

According to ancient legends, Imhotep was the son of the Memphis creator god Ptah, and the lioness goddess Sekhmet. However, the myths correlate Imhotep with other gods. Often, the first architect is depicted as a young man sitting on a stone, pondering over an unfolded papyrus. Unfortunately, there is no other information about the parents of the high priest, nothing is known about them.

True, modern researchers of Egyptian history have interesting hypotheses regarding the origin of Imhotep. According to one of them, who appeared as if out of nowhere, and became the high priest, Imhotep was a representative of an alien civilization!

Perhaps Imhotep arrived on Earth as part of the crew of an alien ship. And let's say due to circumstances, for example, a ship crash, they could not leave the planet and remained on Earth. Or the high priest stayed on the planet deliberately, with the missionary purpose of teaching the aboriginal sciences.

Another assumption connects Imhotep with the legendary civilization of the Atlanteans. Allegedly, he could be one of the survivors of the terrible catastrophe that destroyed Atlantis. However, discussions about this continue. Meanwhile, archaeologists do not find anything alien in the construction of the pyramids.

According to experts, the ancient Egyptians could build the pyramids on their own, without the help of alien technologies. Probably, the high priest Imhotep is also a talented scientist of his time. And most likely it has absolutely nothing to do with the alien culture or the civilization of the Atlanteans. Although we cannot know for sure.
