It is believed that one in six deaths in the world is from cancer - it is the second most deadly disease after cardiovascular disease. Scientists from all over the world are trying to come up with an effective medicine: someone has already created a spray gel, and someone has already received approval. Recently, a very loud statement was made by Israeli scientists - they assured that they had developed a cure for cancer that kills malignant cells without any side effects.

The announcement was made by Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies (AEBi), founded in 2000. The drug she created was named MuTaTo, which literally can be translated as “multipurpose toxin”. The principle of its action is that cancer cells will be killed by tiny peptides that envelop each cell from all sides.

Until now, antibodies have been considered the best cancer killers, which are also ideal for drug delivery. However, they have a big drawback - they are too large to penetrate into hard-to-reach places and are expensive to manufacture and regulate. The best alternative antibodies turned out to be peptides - these amino acids linked in a chain are much cheaper, without causing side effects.

The creators of the drug emphasized that other drugs are aimed at fast-growing cells and only affect a specific point. In contrast, MuTaTo affects even slow-growing cancer stem cells, which can resume disease even after seemingly complete healing.

MuTaTo medicine will be able to adapt to each patient. To do this, they will need to send part of the biopsy for examination. Analyzes will show which substances should be used in each specific case.

The company has successfully tested the drug in mice, but admits that testing in humans could take several years. Her statement has already been criticized by experts: most of them doubt that the medicine is effective against all types of diseases. They also note that tests on mice and humans are different things, and in the human body, a drug can show completely different results.
