The first artificial intelligence laboratory to simulate the human brain has already opened in Anhui province, China Daily writes, citing the press service of the China University of Science and Technology.

Specialists from China University of Science and Technology, Fudan University and Shenyang Institute of Automation are taking part in the development. Specialists from Baidu will help them.

Wang Lijun, president of the China University of Technology and head of the laboratory, believes that despite the existing developments in this area, AI developers are at the very beginning of the journey. According to him, the development of neural networks that imitate human brain activity will help to better understand artificial intelligence and determine the vectors of its development, because now AI will not be able to compete with the brain.

Scientists have been working on making artificial intelligence smarter for a long time, but it will take a long time for it to grow even to the level of a rat.
