A system based on artificial intelligence has appeared, which is able to look into the future, predicting what a person is going to do at the moment.

No, the system does not travel through time and (yet) take over the world. Artificial intelligence predictor only guesses what the person will do in the next few minutes. Provided that in these few minutes a person intends to cook breakfast. And a few minutes before that, he also cooked breakfast.

We can say that scientists created a prophet for salads for breakfast. At an exhibition in Salt Lake City, researchers will talk about the development of a machine learning algorithm, which was trained on the basis of many hours of video preparation of salads and breakfasts. As a result, the artificial intelligence can predict the next several steps in the preparation of various salads if it notices that someone has started to cook a recipe.

According to the scientists' idea, in the future, smart home technology will be able to determine what the owner is doing and will automatically offer his help. Perhaps the computer assistant will tell you that one of the recipe points is missing, and the stove will set the desired temperature when all the ingredients are in the saucepan. The kitchen will adapt to the wishes of the owner.

This does not mean that machines have learned to read human thoughts. Rather, the system is only able to predict the next step in the process based on previous actions. It should be noted that the results are not impressive.

Today, artificial intelligence still needs help: someone has to mark up human actions in the first 20-30 percent of the video for the system to get to work. With this help and the fact that the artificial intelligence "looks into the future" for no more than a few minutes, the system was able to predict the next action with an accuracy of 40 percent. Modest result. Scientists report that beyond the 3-minute interval, the predictive accuracy drops to 15 percent.

Due to the fact that artificial intelligence capable of predicting the next stage of the process is a new technology, researchers tend to call long-term prediction "any event within a few seconds." The creation of artificial intelligence that sees the future a few minutes ahead is a significant achievement, despite the low accuracy and specificity of predictions, because they concern only the preparation of breakfast and salads.

For this system to work, you will have to come to terms with the abundance of household appliances connected to the Internet in the house. Perhaps culinary advice from artificial intelligence isn't worth it.
