The developers have created a special coating, the composition and manufacturing technology of which is still kept secret. We only know that just one drop of water can power about 100 LED bulbs, and for example, 4 drops of water - 1500 LED bulbs. The instantaneous power generated by the generator is several thousand times greater than comparable devices without such unique coverage.
One of the authors of the innovative generator, Professor Xiao Chen Zeng, said that each raindrop has more electrical power, making the system much more efficient.
Besides, the high efficiency of the device is ensured not only by the coating itself. The researchers drew attention to the fact that the peak of electrical power was observed at the moment when the drop spread after the impact, and not during it. It turns out that the destroyed drop touches the aluminum electrode and closes the circuit. According to the inventors, the drop acts as a resistor, and the coating acts as a capacitor. This circumstance allows you to maintain an electric charge on a surface with a special coating, and release it at the time of dripping.
The scientist leading the research work, Professor Zuankai Wang, said that the generator is capable of generating electricity from waves of water, for example, in water pipes.
