For hundreds of years, the Indians of Ecuador told legends about the ancient city of giants, which was somewhere in the wilds of the Amazon, but was long abandoned by its inhabitants and gradually the jungle took over it.
According to legends, the race of giants lived here long before ordinary people came here, and they had not one city, but many. Their civilization flourished.
But then something happened. Either the giants did not like the neighborhood with people, or for some reason they began to die out, their cities were emptied, and nobody knows where the last inhabitants of the mysterious race went.
In 2012, a team of researchers attacked the trail of one of the giant cities, learning from an informant that the Indians from time to time go deep into the jungle to a special place that is considered sacred. Following in the indicated direction, the researchers unexpectedly found themselves in a very unusual place.
Imagine a small jungle hill in the middle of nowhere, completely covered with large rocks. According to the researchers, in shape this hill resembled a pyramid, only heavily overgrown. The pyramid was 260 feet (79 meters) wide and the same height.
Stacked stones from a distance look like a cobblestone pavement, but this is an optical illusion, each such pebble weighs almost 2 tons at a glance. The stones are not exactly hewn, but they fit surprisingly well together.
A similar megalithic smoothness is found in many ancient structures around the world. It is also called Cyclopean because of the legends that it was built by the Cyclops giants. At the same time, it is curious that legends about giants building such structures are in circulation both in the Old and New Worlds. Too strange for a mere coincidence.

So, a team of researchers discovered in the jungle either a pyramid, or some other ceremonial structure of some ancient city. The slope of the hill, lined with stones, was equal to 60 degrees and it was rather difficult to climb it without ropes. But when they went upstairs, they saw another large stone at the top, it looked like something like an altar.
In addition to the masonry, very mysterious objects were found here, similar to huge stone pistils or hammers. Their purpose remains unknown, but the size is impressive, they were clearly not made for the size of an ordinary person!
Researcher and writer Bruce Fenton, who was part of the group that discovered the "City of Giants", strongly disagreed with this conclusion. According to him, the arrangement of stones in the square is clearly artificial and made by human hands. In some places between the stones one could even see the mortar holding them together.
Nevertheless, only a few enthusiasts still know about this city in the jungle and archaeologists do not come to study it. And by the way, not far from the stone "pyramid" there are several more suspiciously pyramidal hills.
