This anomalous zone extends from Ldington halfway to Benton Harbor (USA, Michigan) and to Manitowoc (Wisconsin). The length of the lake is about five hundred kilometers, and terrible storms often happen here, when the wind speed can exceed 120 km / h. Disappearance of Captain Donner in the Michigan Triangle

Before that, Donner operated a cargo ship, navigating it through the ice of the Great Lakes, and for several hours in a row did not leave the captain's bridge. When the ship entered the waters of Michigan and the danger was over, the tired captain allowed himself to rest and went to his cabin. Donner asked to be woken up upon arrival at Port Washington.
It took about three hours, and the mate appeared to fulfill the captain's request. He had to knock on the door of a locked cabin for a long time, but Donner did not respond. The crew members broke down the door and saw that there was no one in the cabin. The entire ship was searched most thoroughly, but the captain was never found. It was later revealed that he disappeared while the ship was in the Michigan Triangle. The fate of George Donner to this day remains a mystery to everyone …

In June 1950, on a New York - Seattle flight, a DC-4 with 58 passengers on board went missing in the skies over Michigan. At the time, it was the largest commercial plane crash in American history.
