According to legend, the soldiers were sent to the caves for research. It was planned to build a command center of the North Caucasus Military District in the Kobyakov settlement. The first time their campaign ended safely, but the soldiers allegedly never returned from the second.

After a while, as local residents say, their bodies were found mutilated in one of the branches of the caves. The Kobyakovo settlement itself is now a huge hill on the banks of the Don.

This place causes superstitious horror in people due to a system of underground passages the size of a small city, which has not been fully explored until now.

In the mid 40s of the last century, this place became famous throughout the Soviet Union. The story of a UFO that fell into this place during the Great Patriotic War remains a rumor to this day.
