Satanic sects are not uncommon in Russia. However, most of them behave relatively harmlessly, in any case, do not resort to violence, which cannot be said about the Black Tulip sect, which practiced killing people.
Forsaken of God
An organization called "Black Tulip" was founded in the fall of 1995 in Nevinnomyssk. It was created by 18-year-old Anton Trapeznikov, who called himself "the supreme shaman", together with his friend Vitaly But. A year later, Yegor Glagolev joined them.
Basically, teenagers from 15 to 18 years old were lured into the sect. Upon joining the organization, the neophytes had to take a written oath of renunciation of the Orthodox faith and the obligation to serve evil. It was necessary to write in blood, cutting a finger with a blade. The signed "treaty with the devil" was burned. In addition, members of the sect made a tattoo on their chest - a black tulip.
Meetings of the Satanists were held weekly on the night from Friday to Saturday in a private house on Kommunisticheskaya Street. The sect members practiced reading books on black magic, as well as ritual ceremonies, including sacrifices. In total, during the period of their activity, the sectarians have killed more than 60 animals, mostly stray cats. Satanists caught a cat and hammered nails into its paws, and then crucified it on a wooden cross. In the end, the unfortunate's throats were cut with a ritual knife, the blood was poured into the bull's horn, and each of those present had to drink from there a throat.
During the "black masses", participants used special symbols: lead crosses with images of spiders, horned skulls, drawings depicting various satanic signs.

Executions of "apostates"
One of these "apostates" was Roman Kirichenko. He stopped coming to meetings and maintaining relations with sectarians. For this they sentenced him to murder. Trapeznikov organized the crime, although he himself was doing military service at that time. By his order, Glagolev, together with Vitaly But and Vadim Davydenko, in September 1997, trapped Kirichenko on the street near the school and inflicted more than 15 blows on him with a truncheon and knife, which led to his death.
That time the Satanists got away with it. But they did not stop there - it was decided to kill a certain Andrei Nesterov, a freshman at Stavropol State University. He was not a member of the sect, but he knew about its existence and in every possible way dissuaded his acquaintances from joining the community of Satanists. In addition, he constantly ridiculed Trapeznikov, calling him a "weak personality."
On the eve of the feast of the Holy Trinity, Nesterov managed to lure one of the sectarians to the dacha. There he was inflicted about 40 wounds with knives and an ax. 12 of them were subsequently fatal. After the massacre, the corpse was wrapped in a carpet and thrown into the cemetery. This time Trapeznikov himself, who had already served in the army, took part in the crime.
Who was behind the "shaman"?
Only the second murder helped the investigating authorities find the Black Tulip. At that time, the sect had been operating in the city for about three years. The investigation lasted over a year. The hearings took place in the Stavropol garrison military court, since at the time of the first crime Trapeznikov was a serviceman.
It was found that the Satanists were planning to “execute” several more “apostates” and then commit public self-immolation. Trapeznikov and Glagolev were charged under three articles of the Criminal Code at once: “organizing and participating in an association that infringes upon the personality and rights of citizens”, “cruelty to animals” and “murder”. They were found guilty on all counts. It is interesting that “the shaman2 Trapeznikov repented at the trial, but his assistant Glagolev did not. Nevertheless, the first received 19, and the second - 17 years of imprisonment in a maximum security correctional colony.
The rest of the murderers - Buta and Davydenko - were tried by the regional court. However, both of them were found insane and sent for compulsory treatment in a psychiatric hospital.
The investigation found out that the number of members of the "Black Tulip" sect was about 100 people. Many did not believe that a 20-year-old guy could run such a large organization alone. Therefore, a version arose that some other people were behind Trapeznikov's back, much more mature and intelligent. Maybe "Black Tulip" has become a platform for experiments in manipulating the psyche of people, because adolescents are so easily suggestible? Alas, they never got on the trail of these "shadow leaders".
