Lucida Muncie is known as one of the most famous ghosts in Italy, but she was once a true historical figure. It is believed that her parents were from the noble family of Lucchese, and it is also known that her life can be traced back to the province of Lucca, Italy.
She was a noble woman who, at a very young age, married Vincenzo Diversi. Unfortunately, her husband died a couple of years after the wedding and she became a widow. But it is also believed that she was very cruel and lustful, and it was she who killed her husband in order to enjoy many lovers.
To improve her personal situation, Lucida took the opportunity to marry Gaspar di Nicolao Munci, who was much older than her and very rich.
The significant age difference between the couple and being a real beauty became a popular topic of gossip among locals.

Legends say that Lucida could not face the fact that she was getting old. One day she woke up, looked in the mirror and, to her horror, noticed a small wrinkle on her face. At the same moment, the devil appeared before her. Knowing that she was the perfect victim, the devil made her an offer.
He told Lucida that she could remain a beautiful young woman for the next 30 years, but in return the devil wanted her soul. Lucida was delighted with the offer to stay young and happily agreed. After all, being beautiful was all she wanted.

As the legend says, when 30 years passed, the Devil returned and demanded payment - the soul of Lucida. The vain woman then only realized what she had done, and refused to give him her soul. Trying to escape, Lucida jumped into the carriage and rushed along the walls of Lucca.
Unfortunately, the attempt to escape from the devil ended badly. The night was rainy and windy. Frightened by lightning, her horses jumped off the wall into the lake. There was nowhere to run. Lucida drowned.
It is said that Lucida's beautiful face can still be seen at the bottom of the lake, and her ghost is haunted by the Muncie family's property. It is said that her ghostly screams can be heard during the full moon.
