The New York Times published the startling story that the US Department of Defense in a cluster of buildings in Las Vegas is stockpiling alloys and other materials believed to be related to UFOs. At least that's what the Pentagon said.
One of the authors of the Times report, Ralph Blumenthal, said of the alien alloys: "Some of the materials from these objects are currently being studied by scientists for their amazing properties, as well as their manufacturing technology, whatever they may be." At the same time, Blumenthal said that scientists do not know what they are studying, but these are really strange alloy compounds.
Meanwhile, scientists from the army of skeptics say they do not believe in the alien origin of the alloys found in Nevada, which are claimed at the Pentagon, where the existence of a program to study UFO contacts was recently declassified.
“I don't think there are actually alloys that we cannot identify. My opinion? This is completely impossible,”said Richard Sakhleben, a member of the American Chemical Society's advisory board. And Oregon State University Department of Chemistry professor May Nieman said that thanks to the existing database of alloys, it would be relatively easy to find out what they were made of. The chemist believes that if the metals were indeed alien in origin, forensic experiments would quickly answer many questions about their origin.
