Denver health officials are investigating the infection history of a patient suspected of being infected with the Ebola virus, according to an official Denver Post report.

According to the authorities' report, the patient's condition is assessed as satisfactory, however, until the final clarification of the situation, the patient is under strict quarantine.

Health officials, concerned, say Ebola is only seen as a potential cause of the patient's illness. They also stated this as an “unlikely diagnosis”.

Nevertheless, journalists managed to photograph special anti-epidemic brigades in biological protection suits, patrolling the building with a patient.

At the same time, Connie Price, who is an infectious disease doctor and chief medical officer at Denver Health, told reporters that the investigation is unlikely to link the virus to Ebola.

“Symptoms can mimic a variety of common illnesses … from flu to appendicitis,” Connie Price told Denver Health.

“Based on the initial review of the situation and the symptoms presented by the patient, it is unlikely that this will be confirmed as Ebola,” says Connie Price.

In December 2014, the United States was already facing fear of the Ebola virus when four cases of the virus were laboratory confirmed. In total, eleven cases were recorded, in each of which patients were evacuated and placed in infectious diseases departments.

In this case, the encouraging information is that there have been no reports of the Ebola virus in the region from where the patient was delivered for 45 days.
