The so-called “damn places”, where the most accidents occur, exist on many roads. The Mbarara-Ishaka highway in Uganda is no exception. The first part of this road was completed when one after another accidents began to happen on a straight, like an arrow, and by no means a busy section.

And now, to the accompaniment of tom-toms, a local sorceress stabbed a cow, the head of the animal in the middle of the highway was covered with asphalt, herbs were scattered around, and then the craftsmen performed a dance of purification. After this ceremony, the builders returned to work. And, surprisingly, road accidents stopped abruptly …
The construction of the 4.2-mile stretch of Highway 55 passing through Deptford, New Jersey met with stubborn resistance from Nenticoke Indian Karl Pearce. At a press conference, Pierce said that a curse lay on this section of the road, as the road crosses an old Indian village and a cemetery. The Indian said that the construction would desecrate the graves of the ancient Indians who lived in the area eight thousand years ago. And in Britain, local motorists driving through Essex turn up the gas when they see a mossy boulder lying on the side of the road. According to ancient legends, an evil spirit dwells in this "magic stone", and any delay near it is guaranteed to bring a lot of trouble - up to a car accident. It was decided not to touch the stone after it was accidentally knocked over by a bulldozer during World War II. Poltergeist phenomena immediately began: on the church bell tower bells rang by themselves, agricultural implements and logs flew into the air. The stone was returned to its "rightful" place and has not been touched since then.

Shaman demands tribute
There are abnormal sections of the road in Russia. A road sign unknown in world practice - a triangle with a line - may appear in the middle of the bridge over the Volga in Kostroma. 42 kilometers from Yakutsk, along the Pokrovsky tract, is the burial place of the great White Shaman, who died a violent death.
Immediately after the funeral, many residents began to hear from the shaman's grave deaf cries and cries of incantations. A pine tree was planted on the grave. Not so long ago, on the Tashkent-Samarkand road, just 25 km from the final destination of his trip, a Japanese jeep turned over several times. Engineer Adam Said-Up and two of his friends, who were in the same car, then with great difficulty got out on the road, where they were picked up by passing cars. Already in the hospital, they learned that they were far from the first to suffer on this small section of the road. In Poland, not far from the city of Tarnow, there is also an anomalous five-kilometer stretch of road, where car accidents often occur. A recent study by doctors confirmed that it is at these five kilometers that drivers' blood pressure rises sharply, the rhythm of heart activity changes, and the pulse and breathing rhythm periodically reach zero. This leads to oxygen starvation and a short-term loss of consciousness of the driver.
Why do tragedies happen?
In the early 1980s, a much wider new expressway was opened in New Zealand between Wellington and Auckland than the road that once passed on that site. However, over the next few months, the luxury highway turned into an epicenter of disasters.
In just a year, 97 cars crashed on a nightmarish track. Moreover, every second tragedy occurred as soon as the car drove up to the kilometer pole number 111. Such coincidences could not but arouse suspicion. Surviving and subsequently interviewed drivers recalled that as soon as they approached pillar 111, their car was thrown aside by some invisible force.
On November 4, 1988, 9 cars immediately left the track at the damned mark. It was a clear, fine day, and it was impossible to explain the tragic event by any natural reasons. Some New Zealand scientists decided that the cause of the endless catastrophes was hidden in a powerful electromagnetic underground pulse.
To the New Zealand exorcist Nicholas Randon, the hospital nurse told the story of the dying victim of another car accident. According to the driver's dying confession, he was calmly driving along an empty section of the road, when suddenly some white shapeless spots loomed in front of him. Suddenly and without any reason, he felt an irrepressible urge to direct his car straight into the "front attack." The nurse's curiosity only grew when the much less injured truck driver repeated the words of the previous vehicle list in full.
Curious about the story he heard, Randon began investigating various head-on collisions and found that half of all drivers had an uncontrollable urge to commit suicide.
Another road section, this time in Germany, between Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim, has also gained notoriety in the last five years. Here, at one kilometer, several dozen accidents occurred, leading to a truly huge number of victims. Only the dead were registered 200 people
But why do tragedies happen? If the road is winding, with steep climbs, then the causes of accidents are clear, and if not, then what to think about? If on a flat area "suddenly" the motor stalls and the radio jams, if you don't want to stop on a patch near the road and there is only one inexplicable desire in your head - to get away as soon as possible?
A survey of intercity highways showed that areas with an increased frequency of road accidents correspond to the places where some strange radiation emerges on the surface.
Experts say that artificial tunnels, overpasses, and pits located in the zone of natural geopathogenic zones can play the role of a kind of amplifiers of these far from harmless natural radiations. The danger of the formation of disease-causing zones in the regions of geological faults is especially great. When this or that section of the highway passes through such a place, it, as a rule, is characterized by an increased accident rate.
It was also found that the intensity of the manifestation of anomalous zones often depends on the time of year or time of day, and the intensity of the zone for different time intervals can vary several times.
