Instead of land, the power of money was imposed on a person and forced to extract it at any cost, subsequently buying with it goods that previously could be obtained directly from your land! The introduction of such a "mediator" into the work of people, allowed the traders and those in power through various taxes and financial schemes to receive a significant part of the work of people for free. In other words, to exploit people like slaves.

In the 16th century, the process of fencing took place, the seizure of land by the feudal lords (by right of force) and the expulsion of the peasants from them. Simultaneously, the Poor Laws were passed, which sent all beggars (paupers) to workhouses, a kind of hybrid of a prison and a concentration camp. For vagrancy, they were branded with a red-hot iron.
The laws on the poor have already proceeded from the fact that the full value and correctness of a person is determined not by following the Christian commandments, but by his ability to have money, that is, to be in harmony with the money God. The plebeians, former peasants, were trained as servants, soldiers, overseers and, if necessary, more skilled artisans than slaves.
The power of money made Christianity objectively unnecessary for managing the people, so they began to quickly liquidate it. In 1517, the priest Martin Luther declared the Catholic Church wrong, and in 1520 he burned the papal bull that excommunicated him. Luther, among other things, urged to stop looking for spiritual benefits, and to seek happiness in material life. This is how the great English democracy was born.
