What associations does an ordinary person have with the word "hypnosis"? a cozy office, a soft sofa on which the client is comfortably seated, immersed in a kind of altered state of consciousness. And, of course, a psychotherapist (at least a little reminiscent of Freud's grandfather) …

CLASSICS OF THE GENRE

The pendulum, the metronome, the monotonous voice of a hypnologist, plunging a person into a trance - and, of course, wise suggestions: “You can no longer tolerate alcohol”; "You are a very attractive woman and will soon meet your man" … Three, two, one …

Of course, I'm exaggerating a little - however, even today, in the XXI, some people are skeptical about hypnosis sessions. Or they are afraid: diving into the unknown is always scary. Although such practices were used by magicians and shamans hundreds of thousands of years ago - in ceremonies, rituals, to heal the sick.

But at the end of the 19th and in the first third of the 20th centuries, hypnosis was extremely popular (in certain circles, of course). Successful hypnologists sometimes worked without rest - and the results achieved impressive results. With the help of classical hypnosis, patients got rid of neuroses, depression and other borderline states, psychosomatic diseases, complexes and fears. However, all this is well known. There are now many techniques based on immersion in trance and other states of consciousness. And of particular interest is regressive hypnosis. How is it different from the usual one? Can you see your past life? This is not dangerous? Well, let's figure it out.

A JOURNEY TO THE PAST

Promotional video:

As you might guess from the name, regressive hypnosis is a kind of journey into the past (from the Latin regressio - return, reverse movement). This also happens during a normal hypnotic session - but not always, and mainly depends on the purpose of the therapy. In regression, a specialist "sends" a person at a certain point in time, if required, - further and further, up to the moment when the unborn baby is in the womb. It has long been proven that during the period of intrauterine development, the child experiences certain emotions, which, of course, then do not remember anything. And if a person has experienced some kind of trauma before the moment of birth, it can seriously affect his whole life. And in such situations, regression helps a lot - because it allows you to identify the root cause of the problems (psychological or somatic), and then, back in real time, analyze the situation and work out the problem.

However, it is not always necessary to make such a long journey. Sometimes it is enough to place a person, say, in his school years. Or in youth. After all, often the reasons for our failures lie almost on the surface - but because of the eternal haste or because of the fear of facing the truth, we stubbornly do not notice them.

One day a 38-year-old patient came to see me. Successful lawyer, raising a daughter. My husband has been divorced for a long time. She tried to arrange her personal life - but for some unknown reason, the relationship did not work out …

During a regressive hypnosis session, she sees a dark house. She feels like an eleven-year-old girl and remembers that in the same house her mother’s drunken friends didn’t want anything… Consciousness supplanted unpleasant memories - but with the help of regression, the “root of evil” was discovered. Teenage trauma has become the reason for failure in his personal life. distrust of men (including ex-husbands), fear of intimate and emotional closeness - and we began to work with these problems “here and now,” in real time.

By the way, many are interested in how a specialist in regressive hypnosis understands at what point in time it is necessary to "send" a patient. Sometimes this becomes clear even during the conversation. But often you have to navigate the course of action. The point is that a regressive hypnosis session does not imply a complete trance. A person plunges into a kind of intermediate state that allows him to find the very bridge between the past and the future, consciousness and subconsciousness. And he is able to actively participate in the process: to come into contact with a specialist, to describe his impressions - and the regressive hypnologist is already drawing conclusions and correcting the further course of the session. This is the main advantage of regression. In an ordinary trance, in most cases, a person sees images chaotically, haphazardly - and a specialist has to work with thatwhat we managed to "pull" to the surface. With a competent regression, the therapist "places" the patient at the right moment in time - although sometimes it takes more than one session to find this episode.

So, what tasks can be solved with regressive correction?

First of all, to eliminate psychological traumas that are not recognized by a person and in every possible way poison his life. Regression copes well with complexes, helps to get rid of false attitudes, clamps (including bodily ones), reveals abilities that people did not even suspect, helps to find their place in life, to establish personal relationships. In a word, free yourself from the oppressive burden of the past and start living happily. And regression is suitable for almost everyone, since it represents the mildest effect on consciousness, a person completely controls the process and can stop it at any moment. The exception is patients with a number of serious illnesses, including mental ones: in such situations, an experienced doctor should be consulted.

RETROSPECTIVE SHOWING

Many people wonder what exactly people see in a state of regressive hypnosis. And there is no definite answer here. Because some people perceive situations from the past as mere memories. And others, judging by their descriptions, seem to be watching a good movie - with a plot, characters, colorful scenery. Probably, a lot depends on the person's personality, on his imagination, the ability to immerse himself in the world of images. But no matter how interesting "film" you watch, it cannot be taken literally - you need to tell the therapist everything in detail and decipher the images together, even if the memory seems absolutely real, down to the smallest detail.

But what about the journey to past lives? Today, some consider this to be almost the sole purpose of regressive hypnosis. But even here there are no simple answers yet. And the very fact that a fairly large number of clients describe in detail their life, which took place a hundred, two hundred, a thousand years ago, does not prove the existence of reincarnation from a traditional scientific point of view. A person can clearly see himself as a being of the opposite sex, a resident of a completely unfamiliar country, observe daily life in detail.

By the way, this happens even with convinced materialists, as well as people who, due to religious convictions, do not allow the thought of transmigration of the soul. And to argue in this case is meaningless and useless. In order not to destroy the client's worldview, one can explain his vision by a complex interweaving of images - and work with them. Actually, as in any other case.
