“We believe the facts, and the facts show that people continue to see something,” said Ilya Butov, coordinator of the Ufokom community during his speech at the Mysterious Belarus conference. He talked about the results of the society's work in 2014, among the expeditions of "Ufokom" were searches in the Gomel region for a huge snake "with a head like a good child," as the locals say.

A species unknown to science, the main indications of which were received in the 40-70s of the last century, could not be found. But evidence about it continues to flow - you need to check, suddenly the next Tsmok will turn out to be an undescribed rare species.

The Ufokom community emerged in 2001, when individual paranormal researchers joined forces in a search for UFOs. The "UFO Committee" (from UFO - the English abbreviation for UFO) soon expanded the topic and became interested in everything that science does not pay attention to: from ghosts to sacred geography or the search for meteorites.

Castles in the sky over the Mogilev region, fireballs in the Ivatsevichi district and in the Bryansk region of Russia, or wandering through the forest when, for example, a person leaves the forest naked and does not remember where he was lost for several days - all these phenomena were studied by Belarusian anamalists last year. … And at the conference on Sunday, UFOs were hardly mentioned.

The ufo-com.net website has an emergency response system. If a person sees something extraordinary, he can report it to Ufokom. Community members will immediately receive an SMS with a message - the one closest to the phenomenon will try to quickly respond to the message. True, many messages are filtered even before departure; in many UFOs, Chinese lanterns or other man-made objects can still be recognized by description.

Belarusian researchers of the paranormal do not believe in Martians or demons. More precisely, they will not believe it until they receive scientific evidence. Just the other day, Ufokom received a message about a huge ball, which was glowing, and inside of which something was moving, in the Brest region.

Researchers will travel to the scene to interview eyewitnesses in detail. If the phenomenon looks like an anomalous one, they will analyze the soil, electromagnetic field, radiation … If a message about a ghost comes, you will have to study the history of the place, ancient legends, and then turn on your devices.

The walking dead and paranormal dreams

At the conference, the project of the next expedition was proposed by Viktor Gaiduchik, historian and coordinator of the Brest representative office of Ufokoma. He was interested in the stories about the walking dead common to Europe, he suggests starting the study of such Belarusian stories from Polesie. Europeans are no longer surprised by a number of so-called deviant burials, when the deceased is cut off the head or driven into the heart with an aspen stake, they do everything so that the wizard does not get out of the grave, or the body is exhumed to check whether it is in its place. Such cases are recorded in Belarus not only by folk legends, but also by legal documents, including the recent 19th century.

Physicist Dmitry conducts other research in parallel with his main work. For 20 years he has been studying dream management and out-of-body experiences. The main problem of his activities is verification, verification of the authenticity of what he saw in paranormal dreams. One of his interests is sleep paralysis, when a person cannot move and "catches glitches." The challenge is to consciously trigger this phase and explore what the brain can show to its host.

He is also interested in the phenomenon of synchronous dreams: for example, Dmitry with a barely familiar girl from another city had a dream where they learned to throw knives, and then they could describe in detail to each other their disputes about how to throw a knife correctly - and the descriptions coincided. That it is an unexplored method of communication, or translation of reality into a dream, or just a coincidence, must be verified in detail.

"Iron" instead of psychics

“Absolutely any phenomenon can be explained by the methods of traditional science,” says Ilya Butov. For example, many reports of ghosts can be explained by high levels of infrasound in the vicinity, which in a special way affects the brain.

“Ufokom” has not yet met with cases that would completely fall out of the modern picture of the world.

An autonomous video surveillance system, observation of electromagnetic waves, paired stopwatches for searching for anomalies in time, precise sensors for temperature changes, a whole range of other detectors, analyzers - all this is not "collected on the knee", members of "Ufokom", if possible, acquire laboratory equipment, ashamed to present in scientific papers.

During Galina Romanenko's report on studies of radioactive radon gas in residential buildings, the members of Ufokom first of all asked what equipment was used. Self-assembled? If it is possible to confirm the veracity of the results, the correctness of the calibration, then cooperation with radon researchers "Ufokom" will be of interest. Alertness was also felt when Romanenko said that in search of geopathogenic zones, radon researchers use the help of psychics.

“We have no psychics in the group,” says Ilya Butov. Psychics have repeatedly tried to sign up for us. We can accept a psychic when he passes the banal Zener test, guessing hole cards. If he picks up a certain percentage of guessed cards, well, I'll believe in him. Yes, unfortunately, no one even comes close to passing this test."

Belarusian Stonehenge and the traces of the Virgin

Surprisingly, half of the speeches at the Ufokoma conference dealt with ethnography, sacred geography, and folklore. Without folklore information, it is difficult to collect a complete picture of the paranormal. Many times at the conference the title of the book was sounded "Makklyvyya svedki minuushchyny" E. A. Levkov, telling many mystical stories of the Belarusian land.

And not only ethnographers tell the anamalists where they talk about the “Belarusian Loch Ness monster,” explains Ilya. Often, where anomalists conduct research, there are previously unknown mounds.

Somehow, old legends and modern observations of the paranormal are geographically tied to sacred places for ancestors, archaeological sites. If the story did not arise from scratch, if it is not an "urban legend", folklore can tell researchers where to look for the mysterious.

Archaeologist Edward Zaikovsky examines the sacred stones of Belarus and believes that there is a place in Belarus no less mysterious than the famous Stonehenge. Not far from Polotsk, a figure in the shape of the letter P was laid out of boulders, the purpose of which has not yet been determined. The complex is probably associated with astronomical phenomena and rituals.

The name of the lake near the boulders suggests Ivan's holiday, but the azimuth does not coincide with the sunrise at Kupala. In the church calendar, there was another Ivan's holiday (and church holidays often coincide with pagan rites) at the end of April - just at this time, the location of Stonehenge has astronomical meaning. "Ufokom" offered Zaikovsky another joint expedition just at this time.

There is a unique specialist in pit stones in Belarus - Alexander Zaitsev. He presented his research on the ancient boulders on which our ancestors made holes. There are many such stones in Southern and Central Europe, there are many of them in Belarus, most in the Vitebsk region.

Their purpose was forgotten in the 10th century. And it is not surprising: along the borders of the Belarusian ridge, you can also trace a clear border beyond which such stones were no longer found, and it has nothing to do with the number of boulders per square kilometer. Perhaps they are associated with slash farming, respectively, and with the settlement of certain ethnic groups.

Lyudmila Duchits, co-author of the book "Sacred Geography of Belarus", told a lot about the circumstances of the appearance of miraculous icons and sacral stones. Even today in Belarus, many people worship stones, associate footprints on them with the Mother of God or Christ, bring donations to stones, believe in them for healing abilities. There were many disputes between the church and the people around the sacred stones.

For example, back in 1868, the newspaper “Minsk Gubernskiye Vedomosti” reported an order to destroy the “pagan stone”, but the locals collected the stone in parts, continued to worship it, and today they lead the procession to the sacred place.

Lights of swamp treasures and Belarusian Nessie

Irina Klimkovich spoke about swamp fires. Mysterious lights are often associated with the sworn treasures lost by Napoleon or Catherine II, and even during the Second World War. Fires are often associated with sacred stones. Some stones "guard" their treasures, as in the story about a stone, from which even a hand with a saber protrudes.

Some, on the contrary, “beckon”, as in the stories from the Pruzhany region about a mysterious person with a brush in his hand, who beckons to him, “the treasure itself is asking for in hand”. It is even known that red lights are seen exactly where gold is buried, and white or blue - where silver is.

Local historian and author of the book "Scarbs of blue boulders" Ales Garbul is most interested in his small homeland - Lyptuny, in the Vitebsk region. The famous "Loch Ness Monster" on Lake Bolduk, which is a couple of kilometers from Lyptuny, has not yet been caught, although there is much talk about it. Yes, not only Nessie is interested in his small homeland - he explores pagan temples, found more than a hundred objects of ancient culture.

The local historian asserts: many inexplicable cases of the human psyche, hallucinations, loss of spatial orientation, failure of photo and video equipment - all this can "lead" to a temple or other sacred places.

Almost anyone, even a schoolboy, can join Ufokom, says Ilya Butov. It is enough to fill out a questionnaire on the Ufokom website and not run away from work in the first week. Young people will be loaded with simple work (and they will not take on the expedition under the age of 18), but if a person is sufficiently proactive and not overly directed towards the search for the paranormal (and there are those who, on their way home from work, can find at least five "alien artifacts"), if he sticks to a scientific approach, he will be able to reveal his secret.
