A Russian woman named Nadezhda says that, being a 12-year-old schoolgirl, she once went mushrooming in the forest and got lost. Moreover, she knew her forest quite well, but at some point she suddenly felt that she was surrounded by an unfamiliar, gloomy and not at all similar to the pine forest she had been used to since childhood.
For a long time the girl in vain was looking for a way to her native village and, exhausted, decided to lie down to rest under a tree. She had already begun to doze off when she suddenly heard a quiet and soft voice next to her. The schoolgirl instantly came to her senses and was seriously scared, because before that she believed that she was there alone.
Meanwhile, the voice continued to speak, and our heroine clearly heard: “Please, get up. I want you to come to me. Hope obeyed. She got to her feet and wanted to go to the call, but suddenly realized that the voice was not sounding from somewhere nearby, but right in her head. Of course, the Soviet child did not know anything about telepathy, or at least auditory hallucinations, so the girl could not explain such a phenomenon to herself. She felt uneasy.
An invisible stranger said warmly: “You don't need to be afraid of me, I will not harm you. I'll be your friend. Come closer. And then Nadya suddenly noticed that someone looked out from behind the nearest tree. The lost schoolgirl was still at a loss and did not immediately realize what was wrong with the stranger. Then a sudden hunch struck her like lightning: this was not a man at all! Having made such a shocking discovery, our heroine instantly fainted.
Acquaintance with dog-like fairy-tale creatures
She woke up on a straw mat in some spacious cave. A little further from her stood two amazing creatures, looking like huge anthropomorphic dogs with animal faces, which, for some reason, were very similar to human faces. In addition, the front legs of each of these creatures were attached to the body with a thick layer of skin, like a flying squirrel. Later, Nadezhda witnessed how these intelligent monsters flew: however, not at all high and only not short distances.
The amazing creatures, as if from some fairy tale, did not open their mouths, but the girl clearly heard their voices in her head. Chimeras told her: “Do not be afraid, we do not wish you harm. We want you to stay with us and become our daughter. We promise that your life will be full of joy, and very soon you will not want to go back. The young captive, as you might guess, did not want this too much and thought only about how to get away from here as soon as possible.
Nevertheless, Nadia had to stay with these fabulous creatures for quite some time. She quickly realized that she did not need to say her words out loud, communicating with the new "guardians" - they successfully read her mind. The outlandish creatures turned out to be a male and a female, who were in a kind of marriage. They really took care of the girl as if they were their own daughter, and did their best to indulge her whims. Only they did not allow our heroine to go home.

Contrary to the assurances of dog-like monsters, the girl did not cease to miss her loved ones. She repeatedly tried to escape, but her efforts were in vain. The creatures who read the thoughts of a person easily stopped all her attempts to escape in advance. In addition, they inspired the girl that she simply would not be able to do this without their help. Why - she did not understand then.
At the same time, the chimeras always lamented that Nadya did not like living with them and that she was eager to return home. The creatures assured Nadia that she had nothing to do in the human world, because only suffering awaited her there.

And then everything changed dramatically. The "father of the family" one day told Nadezhda that his wife would soon die. The girl did not believe it at first, since the female monster behaved quite normally and did not show any signs of a serious illness. Despite this, after a while she really was gone. And, despite the fact that the girl was a de facto prisoner of these strange creatures, the death of her “stepmother” really upset her and drove her into sadness.
The remaining monster now found no place for itself. It wandered detachedly through the cave, lay for a long time on bare stones, howled at the moon at night. It seemed that life for him was now completely uninteresting. One day the monster came out of its stupor for a while and said to Nadya: “I think you need to go to yours, I am no longer able to take care of you. Sorry we didn't let you go earlier. The girl, hearing this, was incredibly happy, got ready to go and … went in the direction indicated by the owner.
The dog-like creature, it seemed, all this time was somewhere close and made sure that our heroine safely reached her civilization. Nadya stopped feeling his presence next to her only when she went out into the clearly native (light, human) forest, and then to a village and asked the local residents for help. They took the girl to her village to her parents. Nadia's father and mother were crazy about happiness, because they considered their daughter dead. It turned out that the schoolgirl had disappeared for two long years.
Communication with dog-like creatures broken
Today Nadezhda has her own family, happily living with her husband and two children. She rarely tells this incredible story to anyone, because she is afraid to face misunderstanding or ridicule. Surely many of us, after reading this story, will also consider that at best we are talking about an amusing fairy tale. And someone, most likely, will even call the above-described delirium of a madwoman. However, the husband and offspring of Nadezhda fully believe her words.
But let's pretend for a second that this was actually the case. Who then could those mysterious creatures be? Superintelligent cryptids who mastered telepathy? Residents of a different dimension? Spirits of nature? Aliens from another planet, after all? Not a week goes by without Nadezhda remembering those events from her childhood and her fabulous “guardians”. Sometimes she even mentally calls "stepfather". He, alas, is silent and does not answer her, as if it no longer exists. Maybe that's the way it is …
