This story is cited by the folklorist Balashov. He wrote it down from the words of Irinya Kozhina from the village of Varzuga on the shores of the White Sea.
Irinya's young relative, a teenager, came home one day in broad daylight drunk in smoke. The little boy could barely stay on his feet. Seeing him in such an obscene form, Irinya became furious. She recalls:
- I got in trouble - and, damn you. As the wind grabbed him, he just ran.
A large group of eyewitnesses watched the teenager's speedy run along the village street. At that moment, a bunch of men were standing in the street, chilling in gossip about this and that.
Irinya jumped out after the runaway boy on the threshold of her house and screamed heart-rendingly, calling for help. The men understood her screams correctly. They rushed to catch up with the teenager.
However, Kozhina recalls, "they could not overtake it." The boy was flying like the wind! A few seconds earlier, having been knocked down in a drunken stupor, he was now walking at a measured trot, without looking back, away from the village along the forest road.
Fortunately, other men were driving towards him along that road on a reindeer sleigh. They saw the runner. We also saw the pursuit group. One of them, jumping off the sled, threw himself at the teenager's feet, someone hit him on the head with his fist.
The kicking boy was braided with a rope and triumphantly taken to the village. We thought they had caught a thief. But when the sobbing Irinya told the peasants how it was, they only threw up their hands and crossed themselves.

According to Daria, somewhere in the early 20s of the 19th century, a resident of the neighboring village Pozhenki once walked with her six-year-old son through the forest.
The boy, upset about something, cried all the time as he walked. The woman was tired of his tears. Take it and say: "Let the devils take you!" And the child immediately disappeared, although for some time the woman clearly heard his crying voice, as if from nowhere, from emptiness.
The inconsolable mother rushed into the village, ran to the priest:
- Father, help my grief.
The priest, without hesitation, went hand in hand with her to the place of the boy's disappearance. And there I heard his cry, rushing from nowhere.
The holy father, taken aback, began to read the Sunday prayer and other prayers. All is in vain. Then he said to the woman: “Now the boy cannot be returned. Curse him completely, without a trace, so as not to hear his voice! What the woman immediately did with fright.
The voice was gone. No more news of this child in the village of Pozhenka was reported.
Chernyshev wrote down another similar story in the same area. The elderly Akulina Bashkova told him: one local girl, a Komsomol member, wanted to go dancing. And her mother, very religious, forbade her to do this, because that day was some kind of religious holiday.
The Komsomol member said to her mother in response - they say, I didn't care about your bans. And she left the house, heading for the youth festivities.
Bashkova says:
- The mother was angry and swore badly at her. “Damn,” he says, “I picked you up with your party!”.
At the same moment, the girl was lifted up into the air, just like a bird put on a wing, and dragged her for three hours. Then he dragged him to the same place and dropped. She lived a little and died of passion. It broke all over. She just told me how she was dragged.
Vasily Synchikov, an old resident of the village of Pyantina on the Onega River, also told the folklorist Onchukov at the beginning of the 20th century how one of his fellow countrymen was "dragged". People were working in a field near the village of Krivoy Belt, and suddenly "they see - a man is flying through the air." They began to catch him, because every minute he descended lower and lower.
- They caught it, but they can't hold it in their hands. All the same, somehow they held me back. Then he was unconscious for a week; thought he would die. And he recovered.
Here's another example. Zinoviev wrote down the story of Irina Ryazantseva from the village of Krupyanka, Chita region:
- There was a wedding in the village of Kangil. Here is the mother preparing food for the wedding, and the children crawl under the arms: give one, another. She rashly and roared at her daughter: "Yes, so that the goblin takes you to the irrevocable side!"
Yes, apparently, she said at a bad hour. The girl ran out from behind the table and ran, and she herself roared: “Uncle, wait! Uncle, wait! The people are looking - what is this girl running? Well, how like a whirlwind carries her! Can't catch up …
Only on horseback did they manage to overtake the girl - already in the forest, far from the village. A little girl. Like the teenager sent to hell by Irinya Kozhina, the girl walked away from the horsemen pursuing her with an incredibly fast, inhuman gait.
Thus, direct contact with evil spirits initiated by a person is possible, most likely. To create a contact situation, it is enough to send a person to hell in a "bad hour" …
