The period of the autumnal equinox is a special time, which was traditionally devoted to harvesting, summing up the results and … meeting the New Year. Yes, it was on the holiday of the autumnal equinox that the Slavs decorated the apple tree and other fruit trees, and we, by the way, still hang apples and nuts on the New Year tree.
The turning point of the year
After the autumnal equinox, the Earth turns to the Sun in the Southern Hemisphere: autumn comes in our latitudes, and spring in the south. The points of the autumn and spring equinox divide the year and the day exactly in half on our 55th parallel, where many Russian cities are located. In these latitudes, four seasons of the year and four periods of the day are clearly expressed. Knowledge of all the features of the autumnal equinox is sacred.
You may have noticed: in some villages, shutters with ancient protective symbols are still preserved: the sun is shown on top, and two ducks below: one, western (it was also called evening, or autumn), dives into the water, at night, in winter, beyond the horizon … And the second, morning, emerges from the water (or from the night) to the surface, into the light. White is the color of the high sun, the Lord of the Highest in the Slavic pantheon or Vishnu in the Vedic tradition. This is a symbol of the preservation of all that exists, life, health, love. Thank the Higher powers and ancestors for supporting you and leading you through life in the rays of the sun, and then ask for the preservation of everything that you have and a strong connection with God, blessings to calmly survive the dark times.
